About the job

STU Skovly is seeking another skilled colleague with strong relational competences and a desire to put their hands to work

We believe in the individual young person regardless of the background they come with. We believe in curiosity over the answer, in the relationship before the method, and in that the right framework and the right adults can make all the difference for a young life.

STU Skovly is a unique STU offer in Sønderborg Municipality, beautifully located close to forest and beach. Here, young people between 16 and 25 years have the opportunity to develop at their own pace through practical experiences, academic modules and strong communities. Nature and the physical setting are an active part of our pedagogical work, and we believe that learning and development often arise when hands, mind and relationships work together.

We are well on our way to establishing ourselves and are therefore looking for another skilled colleague who would like to be part of developing and shaping everyday life with us.

About the job

You will become part of a small, engaged team where we together plan and carry out activities and programs that strengthen each student's academic, social and personal development.

You will have contact responsibility for students together with your colleagues and engage in close collaboration with families, businesses and other partners. Part of the task also involves establishing and maintaining internship collaborations as well as supporting the students' path toward education, employment and as much independence as possible.

We work mentallyize. This means that we look behind the behavior, meet the young people where they are, and base our work on their resources and potential. Experience with young people with, for example, ADHD, autism or other special needs is an advantage.

We also want a colleague who sees opportunities in practical communities. Perhaps you have experience with crafts, workshop work, outdoor life, nature projects or other practical activities. The most important thing is that you can translate your competences into developmental learning spaces where the young people experience mastering, motivation and success.

You will succeed in the job if you

  • Can be in the dynamic and developmental without losing calm
  • Meet a bad day with curiosity rather than a correct answer, and a good day with the same calm
  • Build the relationship before the plan, but still remember the plan
  • See the value in academic sparring and actively contribute to joint development
  • Can convey the same message in different ways so it makes sense for the individual student
  • Take joy in small steps, because you know that development rarely happens in big leaps
  • Want to use nature, practical activities or craft skills as part of the pedagogical work

Who are you?

You have experience with and passion for work within the special education field. The most important for us is that you believe in the development opportunities of the young and meet them with respect, clarity and engagement.

We value that you

  • Are curious about the young people, your colleagues and your own professional development
  • Can create trusting relationships and maintain them over time
  • Are proactive in the work with learning, well-being and development
  • Have hands-on skills and thrive with practical tasks
  • Can translate practical activities into meaningful learning and development programs
  • Communicate clearly to students, colleagues and partners
  • Contribute actively to the community and the ongoing work to develop STU Skovly
  • Are educated as a pedagogue or have another relevant background combined with strong pedagogical competences

We offer

  • The opportunity to shape a STU offering in ongoing development
  • Regular supervision and ongoing professional sparring
  • A strong collegial community characterized by trust, humor and curiosity
  • Unique surroundings with close proximity to forest and beach
  • A daily life where your work makes a concrete difference for young people
  • Good opportunities to bring your own interests and practical competences into play

The practical

The position is 37 hours per week with starting date 1 December 2026.

Salary and employment terms follow the applicable collective agreement. Working hours are primarily during daytime, but we expect flexibility in connection with trips, events and similar activities.

A valid driving license category B is a prerequisite. Upon appointment, references as well as a child and criminal background check will be obtained.

Application deadline: 18/10-2026

Interviews expected to be held: 21/10-2026

If you want to know more about the position, you are welcome to contact department head Mette Drost Mikkelsen at tel. 29 16 74 30 (between 8.00-16.00) or team coordinator Simon Uldal at tel. 26 33 64 56 (between 13.00-16.00)
