About the job

Are you systematic and do you have a flair for keeping order in clearly complex data models, or do you simply think that putting things in order is a celebration?

We need someone who can help our engineers keep track of the documentation and make their everyday life easier. If you are used to neatly organizing all your files into folders on the computer and love planning in Excel, then this position is for you.

About us

You will be part of the Systems and Integration Management section, a team of 10 people who together constitute the division's system management element. The aim is to ensure technical coordination of projects, verification and validation of projects, preparation and maintenance of an actual system architecture in the division as well as modeling this architecture. All of this must take place in collaboration with the responsible caseworkers, capacity managers and users.

We are physically located in the coordination department for the division. We procure everything from shoelaces to battle tanks, and our task is to make sure all things work together. We work across all specialties in the division and also have direct contact with both the air and maritime departments.

We are mostly civilians with an engineering background in our section. We do not take ourselves too seriously and have a very free and friendly tone. Over the years we have had many student assistants and have become good at making it work. We are very inclusive, and even if you are “only” 15 hours, we insist that you are WITHIN the section completely.

About the position

You will report directly to the deputy chief and be our system engineer support assistant.

The tasks include among others

  • Participation in project meetings and help with decision minutes.
  • Create and maintain responsibility matrices for the projects.
  • Assist with data coordination in Enterprise Architect, which is our management tool.
  • Assist the deputy chief with various other tasks.
  • Make coffee. But everyone else should do that too.

All of this must be possible to do at (up to) 15 hours per week, by direct agreement with your immediate supervisor.

There are no formal educational requirements from your side. We will teach you everything. You will have the opportunity to shape a workday that fits with your studies, by agreement with the deputy chief.

About you

You are a student in a higher education program. This means you are either studying for a bachelor’s or master’s degree. The study itself is not relevant as long as you have an interest in the work we do.

You have more than two years left of your studies and are interested in working with us for as long as possible. You are familiar with IT and find it interesting to work digitally.

Your most important quality is that you are willing to learn and above all that you are willing to learn by using the tools we need.

As a person you are analytical and systematic. We expect you to work in a structured way with your tasks, both independently and as part of a team, and you can follow tasks through to completion. As a colleague you are curious and open to other people and their circumstances. We also expect that you can express yourself fluently in writing and speech in both Danish and English.

Salary and employment terms

As a bachelor student, the employment is in accordance with the applicable Danish Collective Agreement between the Ministry of Finance and Public Employees Organization – The Public Sector (OAO-S collective agreement) and the organizational agreement for office clerks, laboratory technicians and IT employees (HK collective agreement).

Your employment as a student assistant under the HK agreement is conditioned on you being an active student and able to document that you are registered at a higher education institution or at a medium-length higher education program (MVU) at a university college or equivalent institution.

As a master’s student, the employment is in accordance with the applicable collective agreement between the Ministry of Finance and a number of professional organizations for academics in the state (Academics Collective Agreement).

Depending on your qualifications and competencies, there is the possibility for negotiation of a supplement.

There is an employer-funded pension scheme tied to the position.

The workplace is in Ballerup.

As an employee under the Ministry of Defence's area, you are subject to certain special conditions. You must, among other things, be security cleared and maintain the security clearance throughout the employment. You have as an employee a duty to render service outside the country, including at units in international operations with a view to participation in conflict prevention, peacekeeping, peacebuilding, humanitarian and other similar operations.
