About the job

Would you like to try your hand at development and testing in a large digitisation program? And would you like to help develop the public IT infrastructure in the Faroe Islands and Greenland? Then you may be our new student assistant.

Who are we?

The Directorate of Courts is a part of Denmark's Courts. Our task is to administer and develop the courts, including IT and digitisation.

You will become part of the North Atlantic program, which aims to digitise the case handling process at the Greenlandic and Faroese courts and ensure that communication with citizens, businesses and organisations is on par with the level at the Danish courts.

We are an organisation that places a strong emphasis on being good colleagues and lifting each other professionally. As a student assistant you will work together with experienced and capable colleagues who will help you develop your competences and support you in your tasks. You will also become part of a larger group of students who work across different subject areas but share a strong sense of community. We are now seeking more student assistants who can contribute to development-related tasks.

What will you do?

We are looking for student assistants for our Product Management and Development unit and for our DevOps unit. Product Management and Development consists of four agile development teams. The DevOps unit consists of agile cross-functional teams within application management, architecture, security as well as test and tools. Together, the two units are responsible for developing and maintaining new applications based on user needs.

In close collaboration with the program's other developers, your main tasks will be to help with:

  • contribute to new development, both frontend and backend
  • ensure that business requirements can be implemented technically
  • qualify test cases
  • troubleshoot, report and fix bugs and deficiencies
  • set up automated tests
  • prepare and implement technical tests.

During your employment your tasks will evolve as you gain more experience and become more proficient in solving your tasks.

In the North Atlantic Program we work from agile principles and with some of the latest technologies and methods such as:

  • Programming language JAVA (latest version)
  • OpenAPI Spec for an "interface first" approach
  • Microservices in Java with Spring Boot
  • Frontend as a SPA in Vue.js with TypeScript
  • End-to-end regression tests with Spock and Geb
  • Kubernetes for container orchestration
  • Infrastructure as code, including GIT-OPS.

We also focus on test automation as well as on continuous deployment and quality control.

Who are you?

You are studying a higher education program in IT, e.g. computer science, software technology, information science, communication and IT or similar. We expect you to be well into your studies and have at least one year remaining. In addition you must have passed one or more courses in programming and have a basic knowledge of development that you want to test in practice in an agile development setup.

We would like you to have experience with development either as a hobby or from study projects, and that you are interested in digitisation and passionate about developing good solutions for users.

As a person we expect that you

  • can work independently and have a proactive approach to your work
  • thrive in a close team collaboration where you work across disciplines and solve varied tasks
  • have good communication skills and be able to express yourself in flawless Danish – both written and spoken.

Salary and employment terms

You will be employed as an IT employee under the general agreement between the Ministry of Finance and the Civil Servants’ Union as well as the organisational agreement for Clerical Officers, Laboratory Technicians and IT Employees (HK) or another relevant agreement, among other things depending on your educational background. Your weekly working hours will be on average 15 hours. The hours are typically distributed over 2-3 days a week.

It is a condition of employment that you can undergo security clearance to "Confidential" and maintain your security clearance during your entire period of employment. You can read more about security investigations here .

This is a fixed-term position with an expected duration until the end of 2029.

The Directorate of Courts is located at both Gammel Mønt and Amagerfælledvej. In this position you will for the time being have the workplace at Gammel Mønt.

Application

You submit your application electronically via our recruitment system. You will be guided through the recruitment process when you click "Apply for the position".

In addition to your application please attach your CV, relevant examination papers with grades and any references.

We must receive your application no later than Monday 26 October 2026.

We encourage anyone who is interested and qualified to apply for the position regardless of age, gender, race, religion or ethnic background.
