Student job at Sandslottet day-care center on Amager – for those who want to work with children and relationships

Do you want a study-relevant job where you gain hands-on experience with the pedagogical work in an integrated day care? At Sandslottet we are looking for a student who wants to be part of a professionally strong work community with high well-being and a focus on the children.

With us you are close to the core task: the children. You will be an active part of everyday life in both the nursery and the kindergarten, depending on where the need is on the day. This means that you help create safe frames, participate in play and initiate activities. For example, you should help support play communities by taking the lead in play yourself and showing children how to participate in a game.

You should also help with the various practical tasks that arise during the day in a day care – we all help each other and work on equal footing.

At Sandslottet we have a strong focus on food pedagogy. The children in both the nursery and the kindergarten are in different cooking groups where they make small dishes. They help make egg salad for lunch, get their hands in a bread dough or try a blender that makes noise. Across the house, we also work with movement, physical learning environments and small groups of children.

Working hours are about 8-10 hours per week – but we are flexible and adjust the hours to your studies and our schedule.

Who are you?

We expect that you

• are enrolled in a relevant education – e.g., as a pedagogian, psychologist or teacher
• want to work with children and see it as a meaningful and professionally relevant job
• are curious about relational work and can create contact and relationships with small children
• want to play, take initiative and be active together with the children
• perhaps have experience, which is an advantage, but not a requirement – the most important is your approach

About Sandslottet

We are an integrated institution with five rooms (three in the nursery and two in the kindergarten) and about 80 children. We work with a focus on movement, play and learning environments that support children's development. Our pedagogy is based on the idea that adults are active participants in children's play and learning, and that our relationships with the children are the foundation for their well-being.

Salary and employment terms

You will be paid as a pedagogical assistant in accordance with the agreement for pedagogical staff. If you have completed 60 ECTS points in the pedagogy program, you can receive a salary supplement.

Working hours are around 8-10 hours per week, but we agree on a fixed number of hours that fits your study and our schedule. Start is as soon as possible.

You must be enrolled in a study program, and therefore you must attach your enrollment confirmation, showing that you are study-active.

We obtain a child and criminal record check and references in connection with the employment.
