About the job

Student assistants with knowledge of the EU sought for Parliament's EU Information

The Parliament is seeking two student assistants with a strong interest in work in the EU's institutions, the Parliament's work with EU affairs, and the implementation of EU law in Denmark.

In the Parliament's EU Information, we bring the EU close to Danes.

We explain what the EU means, and why it is so important to stay informed and form an opinion. We explain how the EU and the Parliament are connected, and how EU legislation becomes Danish practice. And we do it at eye level – in a way that opens people’s eyes.

This is where you come in! If you’re a bit of an EU nerd like us, this position can give you the opportunity to try your hand at a variety of tasks, so you can surely become one of Denmark's sharpest EU minds.

Your primary tasks

You will work in the Parliament's EU Information, but will also handle tasks for the Parliament's EU consultants. Both fall under the International Secretariat in the Parliament Administration.

In the EU Information’s help desk you will provide neutral, balanced and factual information about large and small questions about the EU and Denmark's relationship to the EU to, for example, citizens, researchers, master's students, journalists, school pupils, interest groups, party-affiliated staff and members of the Parliament. You will have the opportunity to try your hand at EU law in practice, and you will delve into directives and regulations from the EU.

You will become an expert at searching databases such as the EU Court’s Curia site, the EU’s EUR-Lex with EU legislation, and Retsinformation regarding the implementation of EU legislation in Denmark. And you will become adept at understanding how the Parliament's role in the EU decision-making procedure works in practice.

In addition there will be research tasks and opportunities to, among other things, give presentations on the EU to high school students. You will also be required to update and write short articles for eu.dk .

Your profile

  • You are pursuing a relevant university education such as law, political science or history.
  • You have a very good understanding of the structure, institutions and procedures of the EU (at a university level) and a strong interest in the field.
  • You have experience working more practically with EU topics, e.g. through your studies, a student job or internship.
  • You have a burning desire to work with public information.
  • You want to be part of an exciting professional environment at Christiansborg, which is non-partisan.
  • You are comfortable giving presentations to smaller groups.
  • You have good analytical abilities.
  • You have good skills to express yourself clearly both in writing and orally in Danish. Also under time pressure.
  • You have good English skills. Knowledge of other languages is an advantage (primarily French, German).
  • You are collaborative and ready to take on new tasks, big and small.

Your workplace

Your physical workplace will be Provianthuset, Christiansborg. You will become part of life at Christiansborg and gain a unique insight into Danish European policy. We can offer fun and varied tasks in a team of seven full-time employees and a strong group of like-minded student assistants.

We place a high value on your personal development and well-being.

Salary and conditions

The employment is regulated by the joint collective agreement and the corresponding organizational agreement for office staff (HK Stat).

Working hours average 15 hours per week, distributed over two full weekly days (9:00–16:30). In the summer months (June, July, August) the average working time is 8 hours per week.

Start expected on January 1, 2027 or as soon as possible thereafter.

Note! Employment requires that the applicant can present a “clean” criminal record.

Information and application

You can obtain more information about the position from the team coordinator for EU Information, Kirstine Chege, tel. +45 6162 5797.

Application deadline: November 11, 2026, 12:00

We expect to hold interview rounds on November 24 and 25. It will take place in person at Christiansborg. It is possible to hold the interview as a virtual meeting if, for example, you are in an internship abroad.

Before the interview you will be asked to solve a small task (a case), which will be sent to you to answer at home within a given timeframe. We can typically offer you a couple of different times to complete this task, but completing the task is a prerequisite for proceeding to the interview.
