About the job

Are you interested in case processing and public administration, and are you curious about how data can be used to find patterns and improve workflows? Then you might be our new student assistant in the Control and Data team in the Danish Agency for International Recruitment and Integration (SIRI)!

Your new workplace

In SIRI we ensure that EU citizens have easy and quick access to Denmark, and we process applications for residence and work permits for foreigners who want to work or study in Denmark.

In SIRI we also work with our strategy and core tasks in mind. We have a strategy house that describes our vision and mission as well as the foundation for the way we work. Read more about us, our strategy and our different offices here . In SIRI digitalisation is an important part of our daily life. We work with new technological possibilities, e.g. AI, to strengthen efficient and secure task execution and create value for citizens, companies and employees.

Welcome to your new team - Control and Data

You will become part of the Control and Data team in the Economics and Analysis office. The team uses register data, among other things, to verify that the conditions for residence and work permits in SIRI's area are complied with. We plan and carry out controls, screen specific cases and work with data and the development of the control effort.

Your tasks

Your primary task will be to support the register-based control of SIRI's residence schemes. You will especially work with screening of cases that have been selected for control.

Based on fixed guidelines and workflows, you will assess the individual cases and identify which ones should be created as control cases. You thus play an important role in the initial case processing and will be introduced to SIRI's case processing systems, including Public360.

The task requires you to be able to work systematically and with concentration on a large number of cases, and that you have an eye for detail and consistent quality in the task execution.

If you are keen to work with data and development, there is also an opportunity to use your curiosity in the tasks. You may, for example, help discover patterns in the cases and suggest how we can improve our use of register data, workflows and the control effort.

Depending on your interests there will also be opportunities to try other administrative tasks in Economics and Analysis.

About you

You are currently pursuing a relevant education, e.g. law, political science, public administration or similar.

We emphasize that you

  • are thorough, detail-oriented and responsible in your task execution
  • thrive with fixed workflows and tasks where quality and systematics are important
  • can work independently and as part of a team
  • have a knack for getting to know new IT systems and are curious about using data to improve task execution
  • have drive and are prepared to tackle both larger and smaller tasks.

Experience with administrative tasks or case processing is an advantage, but not a requirement. You do not need to be able to program – the most important thing is that you want to learn and explore how data and digital tools can support the work.

What you get as a student in Economics and Analysis

You will be responsible for your own tasks and become part of the daily operation on par with the other staff in the office. We provide a thorough introduction and ongoing professional sparring, so you are equipped to solve the tasks independently. The office has a total of seven students who work closely together.

You will also have the opportunity to gain insight into working in a politically governed organization and how data, case processing and control interact in practice.

We have a good and informal working environment with high ceilings, humor and a strong social togetherness. You will have around 40 engaged colleagues with different experiences, education, perspectives and tasks, and we collaborate broadly with the rest of the agency and the ministry.

There should also be time for other things besides work. We have a running club and training facilities – and we hold Friday bars in the Slyngelstuen basement with table tennis, board games, draft beer and soft drinks. Your new colleagues in the office are often among those who take the lead in social events.
