Subject teacher in science, physics and mathematics

As a fundamental subject teacher, you become part of a strong pedagogical community where we work purposefully to create meaningful, practically oriented and vocationally oriented teaching. We are particularly looking for an instructor who can make science, physics and mathematics relevant for students on the plumbing (VVS-), mechanical and also warehouse and logistics education programs.

You are motivated by translating scientific and mathematical theories into concrete problems from the students' upcoming professions. You see value in linking the teaching to, for example, energy and heat installations, mechanical systems, materials, transport, warehouse management, logistics and sustainable solutions.

Your main tasks

Teaching science, physics and mathematics at the basic and main programmes with a clear connection to the students' vocational education.

Development of practice-oriented teaching sequences based on real problems from the plumbing, mechanical and warehouse and logistics industry.

Planning and conducting experiments, cases and projects where students work with e.g. energy, pressure, forces, movement, materials, metrology, transport and resource consumption.

Interdisciplinary collaboration with vocational teachers to create holistic learning pathways that show students how mathematics and science are applied in practice.

About you

We imagine that you

• Have teaching competence in science, physics and preferably mathematics.
• Have an interest in technical and vocationally oriented educations and can relate the subjects to the students' future workplaces.
• Can make scientific and mathematical problems concrete through examples from VVS installations, vehicle technology, warehouse operations and logistics.
• Believe that hands-on, practical teaching strengthens motivation, learning and progression among vocational education students.

Salary and employment terms

Employment and remuneration are based on qualifications and in accordance with the Ministry of Education's circular no. 101 of 1 February 2007 on terms of employment for civil service-like employees at institutions for vocational education and catering departments.

Teaching is, as a rule, at EUC Syd's departments in Aabenraa, but activities may periodically take place at the school's other addresses.

There is a two-year probationary period as well as an attractive pension scheme attached to the position.

Applicants without a pedagogical education must complete a pedagogical diploma program within 4 years after the appointment.
