About the job

Would you like a job with meaning, and would you like to be part of our community, where you make a difference for other people? We are currently seeking several empathetic and engaged on-call relief workers who will help our residents live a meaningful and safe life.

Do you want to help other people and contribute to a good everyday life for our residents? Then a job at Queen Ingrids Home is surely something for you.

With us, we meet all residents with an open mind and a warm heart, and we respect each individual's right to decide how they want to be helped.

Who are we?

We are a house where community, development, professionalism and diversity are a natural part of our daily life. We work to create a safe and meaningful life for our residents, and where the individual is met with respect, presence and care. We believe that we succeed best together when we learn from each other, use our different competences and contribute to a sense of community.

As an on-call relief worker you will therefore be a very important part of our community and the collaboration with your colleagues across professions. It is important that you want to help support residents’ well-being, safety and self-determination and create good days for them – every time you come in.

Your primary tasks will among other things be to

  • assist residents with personal care, such as washing, brushing teeth and dressing
  • assist residents with practical tasks such as tidying up, laundry and waste
  • assist during meals with serving, support and companionship
  • assist with practical tasks in the department, such as washing up, tidying up and waste
  • carry out everyday activities with the residents, such as playing games, reading and singing

It’s a plus if you have experience from the elderly care sector or, for example, are trained as a social and health assistant or aide. But the most important thing is that you want to make a difference and meet other people with warmth and respect. Regardless of experience, you will receive a thorough introduction to the tasks when you start with us. When you are ready to perform the tasks on your own, there is always a colleague nearby if you need guidance.

The practical

We are located close to public transport and have free parking.

There is an opportunity to be employed as a on-call substitute, where you cover in when, for example, there is a sick leave or similar. You can also be employed in a fixed part-time position of up to 12 hours per week. The hours can be consolidated, so you, for example, work regularly every 2nd or 3rd weekend or have fixed shifts on weekdays.

Terms of employment

You will be employed according to the applicable collective agreement, and in connection with your possible employment we will obtain a criminal record check and references.

We hope that you can start as soon as possible after the application deadline.

When you are employed in the City of Copenhagen, you also gain access to a wide range of employee benefits – for example discounts on training, experiences and things for the home through our webshop.  See the current offers and discounts here .

Does this sound like something for you?

Then we would like to hear from you. Send an application describing a little about yourself and why you would like to become an on-call relief worker with us.

Call or text Jeanne Hudlebusch at 51 64 82 54 if you want to know more about working as a permanent relief worker with us.

We look forward to hearing from you and welcoming you to our community.

Apply via the link no later than Monday, 9 November 2026

We hold ongoing interviews and consider candidates up to the application deadline.
