As a surveyor at Gustav H. Christensen you can look forward to a daily life where practical surveying goes hand in hand with the work behind the screen. Here data must be processed, quantities calculated and the documentation put in place.

You will have a fixed base at the office in Snejbjerg, but will spend a large part of your time at different construction sites, mainly in Jutland. You will become part of the project team and work closely with project managers and colleagues on the sites. Together with your land surveyor colleague, you will be responsible for taking care of the practical measurements, as well as the data-heavy part of the job, where immersion and structure are crucial.

Your tasks

The tasks vary depending on the size and nature of the projects and can be tailored to your experience and professional background. You will among other things work with:

• Measuring and land surveying technical tasks at construction sites
• Collaboration and coordination with your own project team, as well as other site managers to ensure correct execution
• GPS and data preparation for machine control
• Drone surveying
• Handling and processing measurement data
• Volume calculations
• Working with CAD files and various data and file formats
• Prepare documentation, calculations and data processing in connection with measurement tasks

When you are on the projects, the workday will typically be a combination of practical surveying and the subsequent work with data, calculations and documentation from the site’s office facilities.

Who are you?

Your entry into the job can vary. You may be a trained surveyor, mapping and surveying technician, or have another construction-technical background, e.g. as a building designer with an interest in surveying, GPS and machine control. If you come with several years of experience from a similar position, your educational background will be less decisive.

The most important thing is that you enjoy the whole task and take responsibility for the processes from start to finish. To succeed in the job you must be able to collaborate with many different colleagues and at the same time be clear about what you need from others to move your work forward.

You have good IT understanding and are familiar with CAD and various file types – it is not essential that you know in advance the programs and equipment used in the company.

You will be paid an individually negotiated fixed monthly salary plus pension and health insurance. In addition, a company car, mobile, PC and the necessary equipment will be provided.

The contracting company Gustav H. Christensen A/S was founded in 1974, where the tasks primarily consisted of land development and smaller road works. One of the larger tasks was, among other things, to help expand the main road from Tjørring to Herning.

In the early 1982 there were about 20 employees in the company. Today there are about 80 employees, and when the need arises, capacity is expanded through collaboration with skilled subcontractors.
