Svendborg Municipality is seeking trainees for employment on the main program for Social and Health Care Assistants / SSA starting in February 2027

The training takes place in collaboration with SOSU-Fyn. The school periods take place at SOSU-Fyn’s school in Svendborg or Odense. Most students we hire wish to train at the school in Svendborg.

The Social and Health Care Assistant training

As a social and health care assistant trainee you receive a practical and theoretical education. You learn to provide professional care, nursing and collaborate closely with other professionals to maintain or increase the quality of life for citizens with multimorbidity.

In Svendborg Municipality, work is based on the concept of person-centred care in citizen pathways. We place emphasis on your desire to develop yourself as a future professional with a focus on communication, rehabilitation and collaboration.

Your training alternates between school and on-the-job training.

You will undertake training at nursing homes, home care, psychiatry and somatics at the hospital.

You will have the opportunity to work in the municipality, in psychiatry, at the hospital or in a medical practice, etc.

At each workplace you will be assigned an Apprenticeship Supervisor, who together with you is responsible for your training. The Apprenticeship Supervisor supports you, follows up and provides feedback based on everyday care tasks, in line with the goals for your training period. You have weekly study hours and guidance with feedback / reflection in relation to your practical learning.

You must be ready to join work communities with a desire to learn and develop professionally and personally. In addition, an interest in working with new welfare technologies, across professions and with the citizen as the most important and closest partner is expected.

Salary and terms of employment

Salary and terms of employment are in accordance with the applicable collective agreement

Standard trainee salary ;

SSA Level 1 15,822.54 DKK / month Level 2 18,026.45 DKK / month.

Adult trainee salary; 25,121.92 DKK / month.

Adult apprentice salary ; 25,121.92 DKK / month

You receive pay throughout the training, both when you are in on-the-job training and during school periods
