About the job

Nurse for Day Clinic (Ambulatory) and Oversight Function – Respiratory Center East (RCE)

Are you a nurse, and are you motivated by working with complex patient pathways, coordination and close interdisciplinary collaboration? Do you want to combine clinical nursing, high professional standards, teaching and patient-centered work – both in the clinic and in the patients' homes? Then perhaps you are the person we are looking for for a position in the clinic - and oversight function at Respirationscenter East.

The outpatient clinic and oversight function are undergoing an exciting merger into a single unit. Previously they operated as two separate units, but are now joining to strengthen collaboration, create greater coherence in patient pathways and develop the shared professional expertise across the functions.

Who is RCØ

RCØ is part of the Department of Anesthesia, Pain and Respiratory Support at Rigshospitalet Glostrup and is one of three respiratory centers in Denmark. We provide highly specialized respiratory treatment for children and adults with rare and chronic respiratory disabilities, including patients in need of NIV, CPAP and invasive respiratory support.

RCØ has about 1800 associated patients, of which about 210 are home ventilator users with associated caregiver teams, who monitor and treat at home on delegation from RCØ. We have a regional function across Eastern Denmark and also receive patients from Greenland and the Faroe Islands.

The department consists of a clinic - and oversight function as well as a ward, which work closely together around patient pathways. We are a large multidisciplinary department with doctors, nurses, clinical nurse specialists, social workers, secretaries, healthcare assistants, physiotherapists and medikotechnicians.

About the position

The position is in the clinic - and oversight function, where you become part of a committed and professionally strong team with extensive internal sparring and close collaboration across the entire RCØ.

You will have a varied everyday life with clinical, coordinating, administrative and teaching tasks. The work takes place both in the outpatient clinic, via telephone and video consultations, and at outpatient/oversight visits in patients' homes, in residences, nursing homes, institutions and other hospitals.

We work from Fundamentals of Care, together with a family-focused approach with emphasis on person-centered nursing and the trusting relationship with patient and relatives.

Your tasks will include among other things

  • Interdisciplinary and autonomous consultations
  • Telephone, video and email contact with patients, relatives, respiratory care providers and partners
  • Coordination and follow-up of complex patient pathways
  • Handling initiation of treatment and acute issues
  • Oversight of respiratory treatment and monitoring at home
  • Quality assurance of caregiver arrangements, including audits and logbook reviews
  • Teaching and guidance of patients, relatives, respiratory care providers and external partners
  • Administrative tasks and cross-sector collaboration with municipalities, agencies, hospitals and institutions

We are looking for a nurse who

  • Has a minimum of 2 years of clinical experience
  • Would preferably have experience with respiratory treatment, NIV, CPAP or invasive ventilation – or are eager to learn the specialty
  • Has flair for or interest in medical-technical equipment
  • Possesses both strong nursing and administrative competencies
  • Thrives on coordination and complex patient pathways
  • Works independently, in a structured and proactive manner
  • Has good communication and pedagogical skills
  • Is keen to teach and mentor
  • Thrives in interdisciplinary collaboration and contributes positively to the working environment

We offer

  • An exciting highly specialized specialty with great variation in tasks
  • Thorough introduction and training in all functions
  • A strong collegial community with high professionalism and focus on sparring and reflection
  • Opportunity for professional development through courses, teaching and conferences
  • Opportunity to specialize in particular areas of responsibility
  • A varied teaching function
  • High degree of independence and influence on your own workday and rota

  • An onboarding nurse and support from experienced colleagues, so you have a secure start in the specialty
