Tårnby Parish is looking for an organist with a passion for music and people.

We are a lively workplace and one of the oldest churches in Greater Copenhagen. Tårnby Church is an active church with many religious services and events. Therefore we are seeking a part-time colleague for our organist. We are looking for a skilled and experienced church musician with an intuitive understanding of the rhythm of the liturgy, who can underpin its progression with a creative interpretation of both classical and modern music.

Your duties will among other things be

· To play at worship services and church ceremonies, contribute with piano playing at various events – for example, song evenings in the parish house.

· To play at worship services and music events at nursing homes and Amager Psychiatric Center

· To lead and administer the church’s singers (SATB)

The appointment takes place with Tårnby Parish Council located at Englandsvej 330, 2770 Kastrup

The employment of an organist with a degree as “Church Musician with Organ and Choir Direction” or an organist with a PO degree is covered by the agreement between the Ministry of City, Rural and Church and CO10 – Central Organisation of 2010.

Organists with a church music candidate- or bachelor education are covered by a protocol to the academic agreement on contract employment of DOKS organists and permanent teachers at church music schools entered into between Akademikerne and the Ministry of City, Rural and Church.

Current civil-service employed organists have the right to preserve their civil-service status upon appointment with direct transition. In that case there must be a classification of the position.

The annual salary for applicants with a church music candidate degree (DOKS) is negotiated according to the new salary-AC scale. That is, a gross salary between DKK 356,300.70 – DKK 434,159.97 annually (current prices).

There is a standby obligation tied to the position. The standby allowance amounts to annually between DKK 45,842.92 – DKK 71,200.18 (current prices). Placement and standby allowance are provided according to seniority. Additionally, with local negotiation, qualification and function allowances can be provided.

The annual salary for applicants with a church musician degree with education in organ and choir direction (formerly PO organists) is negotiated according to the agreed basic salary scale. Base level 1 amounts to DKK 343,808.19 annually (current prices) and base level 2 amounts to DKK 361,226.00 annually (current prices). Placement is based on seniority.

There is a standby obligation to the position. The standby allowance amounts annually to DKK 29,104.64 (current prices) for service at 1 church / DKK 37,223.95 (current prices) for service at 2-3 churches / DKK 44,094.15 (current prices) for service at 4 to 6 churches / DKK 50,839.43 (current prices) for service at 7 or more churches (select the relevant).

Salaries and standby allowances are pro-rated in accordance with the employment fraction of the position.
