Do you want to help strengthen children's opportunities to participate in strong communities? In this position as a speech-language pathology consultant you support day-care and schools in one of the municipality's districts as well as a speech class. Your task, in addition to supporting the individual child, is to contribute to the development of the learning environments and communities of which the child is a part.

We offer a position where you

  • have the opportunity for sparring with a team of 3 speech-language pathology consultants and a reading and dyslexia consultant.
  • become part of a center with a focus on practical relevance and interdisciplinary collaboration.
  • support inclusive initiatives closely related to the child’s everyday life.
  • contribute to the development of learning environments.
  • participate in interdisciplinary collaborations.
  • have the opportunity to make your professional mark on the development of the speech-hearing area.

We are looking for a colleague who

  • has a degree as an audiologist-speech-language pathologist (audiologopæd) or pedagogical diploma with a specialization in speech/language/hearing.
  • can assess and prepare speech and hearing pedagogical assessments with a view to establishing a specific and focused logopedic or hearing-pedagogical intervention.
  • plans and conducts individual teaching programs for children with combined speech, language, hearing, and communication difficulties.
  • has PPR experience.
  • has a positive outlook, humor and a desire to work with children.
  • works in a structured way.
  • is strong in written documentation and communication.
  • has experience with or an interest in consultative practice and systemic approaches.
  • can translate specialist knowledge into practical solutions in learning environments.
  • has an eye for both the individual child's needs and the communities the child participates in.
  • thrives in interdisciplinary collaborations and sees value in developing others' competences.
  • wants to actively contribute to the collegial community.
  • is curious, flexible, reflective and development-oriented.
  • has a driving license and the ability to travel between schools and day-care centers in the district.

About Children and School, Center for Community-Building Pedagogy

We are in a process of capacity-building following a recent merger of the Departments of Children and School and Center for Community-Building Pedagogy (CFP), which has PPR service. Our focus is to better support day care and schools through increased collaboration and coordination of interdisciplinary efforts in the children and youth area. We work from a shared pedagogical reference framework and a common direction to create strong, healthy and development-oriented communities around the children.

The department consists of administrative staff, school and day-care consultants, psychologists, speech-language consultants, pedagogical consultants linked to mainstream schools, a team of pedagogues for early preventive interventions, occupational and physiotherapists, and a reading and dyslexia consultant.

We offer an organization with a clear direction: to strengthen children's participation in general communities and a common systemic reference framework with a focus on developing inclusive pedagogical environments of high quality.

We prioritize being a workplace with a high degree of flexibility and the possibility to design your own work week in alignment with the needs of the schools and day-care centers.
