Apply for the position

Do you have solid experience with civil engineering projects and are you passionate about working with ports, water construction and energy projects?

Sweco is looking for a skilled technical project manager in the field of civil engineering structures, attached to our Water Construction and Civil Engineering department.

You will experience that technical expertise and sustainability are an integral part of our daily work. Our latest projects include climate adaptation in Copenhagen, the construction of a transformer station to support the green transition, and an extensive quay construction in Gothenburg. We work closely with some of the largest utility companies and contractors in the industry, ensuring that our solutions have real impact in society.

Our team of structural engineers has many years of experience with both in-situ concrete and steel structures. We prioritize an open and inclusive work environment where professional development, knowledge sharing and collaboration go hand in hand. Close collaboration with specialists in energy, geotechnics and climate protection further strengthens us and contributes to innovative and robust solutions.

We are now seeking a technical project manager for our Copenhagen office. In this role you will have central responsibility for the technical leadership in the projects, as well as close sparring with experienced colleagues across Denmark. You will also have the opportunity to collaborate directly with large utility companies and contractors and contribute to the development of our project portfolio and future tenders.

About the position

As a Technical Project Manager at Sweco you will be responsible for the management and coordination of technical projects within civil engineering structures. Your primary tasks will be to:

  • Provide input to the bid budget and ensure quality assurance regarding the bid project’s performance specification, and identify and inform about special risks within your own area.
  • Participate in startup meetings with the project owner, project manager and possibly the nearest supervisor, and describe services, deliverables and time budget.
  • Plan, document and ensure quality assurance of the technical project, including preparing a written quality assurance plan.
  • Manage the internally agreed time budget and ensure follow-up on your own technical staff, including status of deliverables and time usage.
  • Identify project risks and deviations in relation to services and deliverables, and communicate and initiate actions to address them.

About you

We are looking for an experienced technical project manager who is engaged, has deep professional expertise and is able to motivate and lead multi-disciplinary teams. We also expect that you possess strong abilities to coordinate, build external and internal relationships, and maintain calm and a positive atmosphere. In addition, it is important that you have a deep understanding of advising on civil engineering structures. Further, we expect that you:

  • Have a relevant education as an engineer, building designer or equivalent.
  • Have solid experience with medium- and large-scale projects within the civil engineering field.
  • Have knowledge of the civil engineering industry’s contractual terms and rules, including YBL 18, ABR 18 and occupational health and safety legislation.
  • Have experience with leading and managing projects, as well as coordinating and communicating with stakeholders.
