Sign language contact person - Glostrup

SIGN LANGUAGE CONTACT PERSON – GLOSTRUP

Can you sign – and would you like to support a woman who is deaf and visually impaired in living an active life? Then it might be you we are looking for.

CFD Rådgivning seeks contact persons for a woman with deafblindness who wants to go out and enjoy life. She communicates fluently in Danish Sign Language, so it is a prerequisite that you can sign, and that all communication takes place in sign language.

There is hourly paid work, primarily consisting of events and trips out of the house. 250 hours annually, of which you will need to cover about 100 hours annually, including online training and in-person attendance in Valby.

As a contact person you are the link between the woman and her surroundings, and you function as her “eyes,” so she can be safe and present in what happens.

The tasks may include

• courses at Fuglsangscenteret in Fredericia
• events at Deafblind Denmark
• café trips and cinema trips
• accompaniment on shorter walks, shopping, etc.

The work is not physically strenuous.

About you

We imagine that you

• can sign
• can be flexible with working hours (also evenings)
• are good at creating a hyggelig atmosphere and communicating
• are open and curious to learn new things

You will receive ongoing training and sparring from both the Deafblind Consultant and the citizen – e.g., about accompaniment and communication.
