The Cyber Division is seeking a Network Technician for monitoring and operations in Karup

We are looking for a new colleague for our Technical Operations West in Karup, where we offer an exciting and challenging job within monitoring and operation of the armed forces' IT systems.

About the position

You will have a varied daily routine where tasks include operational tasks, projects, troubleshooting and advisory, ensuring the operation of the network.

You will primarily work with network administration/infrastructure, where you will be part of the daily operation and maintenance of our various networks. This includes performing control and troubleshooting, as well as creation and decommissioning of networks for our locations.

You will be part of a team responsible for the operation and monitoring of network environments and infrastructure in existing and new environments as well as their implementation.

Your areas of work will include

• Administration of Cisco equipment.
• Administration of Sonicwall, Unifi and other products within network equipment.
• Proactive monitoring and fault remediation via monitoring tools Zabbix, Cisco and PRTG
• Implementation tasks and documentation of new systems.

About you

We are looking for a network technician with a relevant background, such as data technician or similar. Alternatively, an IT employee with several years of experience in administration and operation of network infrastructure. You also master Danish and English in both written and spoken form at a technical level.

We expect you to have

• Fundamental understanding of networking (firewalls, switches, VPN, DNS, DHCP).
• General understanding of IT security and compliance.
• Good problem-solving and analytical abilities.
• Ability to work responsibly and structurally.

We imagine that in addition to your apprenticeship period, you have 3-5 years of experience and preferably from a similar position.

You are collaborative, and you are passionate about developing your specialty and learning new things. You have a good sense of humor and are able to communicate technically complex information to both technical and non-technical partners and colleagues.

You work with commitment, structure and quality consciousness, and take responsibility for both your own and the section's tasks. You thrive in a work environment where there is a focus on stable operation of systems, but where changes can also happen quickly.

As a person you are positive by nature and see solutions rather than challenges. You have a desire to improve yourself, and you willingly share your technical knowledge with your colleagues.

You must be prepared for the position to change to joining a 24/7 operations organization with a shift rotation around the clock. You will have the opportunity to ask more about this at a potential interview.

Employment terms

The employment is in accordance with the applicable Collective Agreement between the Ministry of Finance and Public Employees Organizations – The Public Sector (OAO-S Collective Agreement) and the Organization Agreement for Office Clerks, Laboratory Technicians and IT employees in the state (HK) in the state.

Depending on your qualifications and competencies, there is a possibility for negotiating supplements. There is an employer-funded pension scheme attached to the position.

The workplace is in Karup.

As an employee within the Ministry of Defence’s area you are subject to certain special terms. You must, among other things, be security cleared and maintain the security clearance throughout the employment.

You have as an employee a duty to perform service outside the country’s borders, including at units in international operations with a view to participation in conflict prevention, peacekeeping, peacemaking, humanitarian and other similar operations.
