About the job

Marinehjemmeværnet is seeking a strong administrative profile for the Establishment area

Are you motivated by responsibility, good collegiality and a busy everyday life where no two days are the same, then you may very well be the one we are looking for in a newly created position in the Marinehjemmeværnet’s staff.

About us

Marinehjemmeværnet, in close cooperation with the Navy, performs a range of tasks within coastal surveillance, patrolling, sea rescue and marine environmental protection. Together with the Police, the Danish Tax Administration and the municipalities, we also participate in solving a number of societal tasks.

We cover all of Denmark and are responsible for establishing, educating and training about 2500 active volunteer sailors who form the operational spearhead of Marinehjemmeværnet’s mission-ready forces. In recent years, Marinehjemmeværnet’s military profile has been sharpened to ensure that the voluntarily led, operational capabilities can be fully utilized within the framework of Denmark’s defense plans.

We are 45 dedicated civilian and military employees who, based in the offices in Ringsted and Brabrand, support the volunteers’ many activities at their local flotillas and aboard Marinehjemmeværnet’s vessels and other units. We work in an informal culture with many varied tasks, where everyday life can often be busy and unpredictable.

We place high importance on employee well-being and development and emphasize a good working environment. Service in Marinehjemmeværnet is quite special in that we work for a voluntary, unpaid force that is driven and motivated more by desire than by duty.

We value independence, responsibility and freedom to act high on the agenda. The daily life in the staff is characterized by an open and informal tone.

About the position

The position is a newly created role in Marinehjemmeværnet, as the Establishment area has until now formally been part of the Home Guard Command and the Regional Areas, and informally a secondary function in Marinehjemmeværnet. With the aim of closer cooperation and link to Marinehjemmeværnet’s volunteers and their local needs around the country’s flotillas, a designated role has now been created for guarding and case handling of the Establishment area for Marinehjemmeværnet.

The position includes the following tasks

  • Inspection and supervision of Marinehjemmeværnet’s domiciles nationwide to identify needs, challenges and risks.
  • Coordinate establishment-related matters between Marinehjemmeværnet and relevant authorities, including the Home Guard Command and Establishment and Terrain Command.
  • Follow up on agreements and decisions within the Establishment area, and ensure that relevant issues and challenges are taken to the appropriate level.
  • Participate in meetings within the subject area.
  • Advise and guide Marinehjemmeværnet’s Leadership.
  • Work with project definitions and ensure quality assurance of these.
  • Case handling within the Establishment area.
  • Ensure coherence between Marinehjemmeværnet’s needs and the central case processing at the Home Guard Command.
  • Monitor and validate Marinehjemmeværnet’s domiciles nationwide, including identifying issues requiring further handling, prioritization or escalation.
  • Support Marinehjemmeværnet’s prioritization of establishment needs across flotillas.
  • Maintain and relay an overview of the status of Marinehjemmeværnet’s domiciles, current challenges and priorities, as well as proposed measures.
  • Contribute to consistent and timely communication about establishment matters and support Marinehjemmeværnet’s leadership and subordinate units with professional advice within the Establishment area.

You should be aware that there may be a considerable amount of travel days, and occasionally work in the evenings and on weekends.

About you

You come with substantial experience in case processing and are able to prioritize your tasks in a busy daily life. It is desirable that you have a degree of familiarity with construction technical understanding, which gives you a good understanding of building maintenance and the ability to see opportunities

You must be able to read, understand and convey regulations and rules and include these in your case processing.

You are a strong communicator who can communicate purposefully, both in writing and speaking, with several different personnel groups. It is important that you can convey your professional knowledge to other professionals as well as to partners without the same background as yourself.

Your communication is respectful and you are able to accommodate the broad personnel group that Marinehjemmeværnet’s volunteers encompass, whether the message concerns limitations or opportunities.

You value good collaboration between colleagues, volunteers and partners from other authorities, but are also able to work independently with tasks within your area of responsibility.

You are adaptable and can handle a busy daily life where tasks are not always planned in advance, and you are able to prioritize your resources among the different tasks.

You may have experience from the Armed Forces and the Establishment area, as well as experience with the use of WorkZone being an advantage, but not a requirement.

Familiarity with being part of a volunteer organization is also an advantage.

It is a requirement that you hold a valid driving license category B, so you can travel around to the country’s flotillas and domiciles.

Terms of employment

The employment is in accordance with the applicable Collective Agreement between the Ministry of Finance and Public Employees Organization – The State Area (OAO-S Collective Agreement) and the Organizational Agreement for Office Clerks, Laboratory Technicians and IT Employees in the State (HK).

Depending on your qualifications and competencies, there is a possibility for negotiating allowances. The position includes an employer-financed pension scheme.

The workplace is in Ringsted or Brabrand.

As an employee under the Ministry of Defence, you are subject to certain special terms. You must be able to obtain a security clearance and maintain it throughout your employment.

As an employee you are obliged to perform service outside the country, including at units in international operations with a view to participation in conflict prevention, peacekeeping, peace enforcement, humanitarian and other similar operations.
