About the job
Would you like to help make a difference for children and young people with disabilities and their families?
We are looking for a new colleague to our specialized team, where we every day work to support children and young people with physical, psychological and somatic disabilities and their families.
With us you will encounter a strong professional community where high professional standards go hand in hand with good collegiality, humor and helpfulness. We work purposefully with the Children's Act, the involvement of children and families, as well as a high social-educational and legal level. At the same time, we are focused on integrity, clarity and development in our work.
Who are we?
In the Special Advisory Service we are 10 child and youth advisers, a social-educational coordinator and a team leader. We are a strong and diverse team that places high value on well-being, collaboration and professional development.
We help each other with prioritizing tasks and have a number of fixed professional supports in daily life, including case reviews, sparring, legal support and peer feedback. We find that we succeed best when we lift tasks together and share our knowledge and experiences.
The Family Department consists of five teams: Central, West, East, Foster Care Team and the Special Advisory Service. In addition, we have an urgent team, family foster consultants, a school consultant and front-running child and youth advisers at the municipality’s schools and day-care centers.
Your tasks
You will be responsible for the authority work regarding children and young people with disabilities and their families. Your primary tasks will be to:
- work with children and young people from 0-18 years with physical, psychological and somatic disabilities
- prepare screenings, assessments and child-appropriate investigations under the Children’s Act
- conduct social-educational assessments and make decisions
- prepare person-centered assessments under the Children’s Act
- process applications for disability compensating benefits
- follow up on interventions and benefits and adjust these as needed
- participate in the (emergency) arrangement with your team until a new organization takes effect.
We place great emphasis on collaboration with schools, day-care centers and other partners to ensure holistic solutions close to the child’s and family’s everyday life. We work from a solution-focused approach and with a fundamental understanding that families are experts in their own lives and therefore should be co-creators of the solutions.
Professionalism and development
We work in the case management system DUBU, which supports the ICS method and the systematic approach to social-educational work.
You will become part of a large department with colleagues with different experiences and professional perspectives. We actively use each other in daily life, prioritize professional sparring and work purposefully with learning and development.
We offer
- An exciting and meaningful job with a high degree of responsibility and influence
- A workplace with high professional ambitions and a focus on quality
- Professional sparring from engaged colleagues, managers and partners

- Modern facilities at Høje-Taastrup City Hall
- Canteen scheme with varied and sustainable food

- A culture characterized by humor, development and learning rather than fault-finding.
We imagine that you
- are educated social worker

- have experience with case handling in the child disability area and can work independently with complex authority cases
- have in-depth knowledge of the Children’s Act and can translate the legislation into social-educational assessments and decisions
