About the job
Are you a student in the social sciences such as economics, law or business law and do you want to help ensure investors can invest with confidence that they are treated fairly? Then this job might be for you.
We offer an exciting student job where your primary tasks will be case handling within the office's supervisory areas, including investor protection.
About the job
In the Investor Protection Office, we supervise, among other things, the investment advice of banks and financial institutions, asset managers and funds, etc. As a student in the office, you will have the opportunity to get to know the financial sector from the inside while developing your competences and gaining practical experience handling cases within the office's diverse responsibilities.
In addition to supervision, the office has an overarching responsibility for legislation in the investor protection area and participates in international work, primarily within the EU.
You will, in collaboration with your colleagues, solve a number of diverse tasks. Your primary tasks at the outset will be processing applications and notifications etc. in relation to investment firms, investment funds, asset management companies and managers of alternative investment funds. In the longer term, there will be opportunities to participate in other case handling within the office's supervision areas. You will also handle various ad-hoc tasks in both law and economics.
Here the tasks come in a queue. Therefore we prioritize sharply and ensure that there is time for the necessary professional depth. You can expect an environment where learning, sparring and ongoing development are a natural part of everyday life. We value collaboration and a good atmosphere in the office highly, including social initiatives in the office as well as in the rest of the organization.
About you
We imagine that you are studying, for example, economics, law or business law, and that you are either pursuing a bachelor’s degree or at the start of your master’s program.
If you can tick the following four characteristics, you are a good match for the position
- You are thorough and responsible
You are structured and take responsibility for your work. You deliver work of high quality and prioritize your tasks in a daily with several parallel and diverse tasks
- You have an interest in working with both economics and law.
You are curious and have the courage to develop professionally. You could like to become part of an office that handles cases at the intersection of law and economics.
- You are flexible and adaptable.
You thrive working in an environment with a high activity level, where tasks sometimes have short and sharp deadlines, and where you themselves are responsible for ensuring that tasks are followed through.
- You are interested in the financial area and contributing meaningfully.
You are motivated by being able to carry out an important societal mission while engaging in meaningful tasks within the financial industry.
How are your terms of employment?
Your employment takes place in accordance with the applicable collective agreement between HK-STAT and the Ministry of Finance, and you will be subject to the internal guidelines that apply to all employees at the Danish Financial Supervisory Authority. In connection with the employment, a criminal record check must be presented.
The working hours are about 15 hours per week with possibilities for flexibility, for example in connection with exams.
