About the job

Do you want to make a difference for young people with visual impairment and be part of a strong work community? Then maybe you are the one we are looking for. At Botilbud Fløjen we are currently seeking two new colleagues:

  • Pedagogue for a permanent position of 30 hours per week due to an influx of residents.
  • Pedagogue assistant for a fixed-term maternity cover of 37 hours per week.

Although the positions have different professional requirements and areas of responsibility, you will be part of the same work community around the young people at Fløjen in both roles.

Fløjen – part of one house

Fløjen is a children and youth home and residential facility for children and young people with visual impairment and minor functional impairments. At present there are 11 residents aged 15-26 who are mobile and largely autonomous in managing daily tasks.

Fløjen is located in the same building as Efterskolen, and we see ourselves as one single house. Everyday life across Fløjen and Efterskolen is therefore closely connected. For example, we celebrate residents' birthdays together, organise joint activities and create natural opportunities for residents and students to meet in communities across the two parts.

We experience that the community across the two parts creates more opportunities for relationships, activities and a lively everyday life.

The cross-campus collaboration also applies to the staff. We help each other across Fløjen and Efterskolen and use each other’s competencies when needed. As a staff member at Fløjen you will therefore also have working days with the young people at Efterskolen. At the same time, you become part of a larger professional and social community where we lift the tasks together.

Everyday life at Fløjen

The pedagogical work takes as its starting point that the young people become as independent as possible in relation to the choices and actions regarding their own lives. We work with verbal support and guidance that supports the development of social and practical skills – with the aim that the young people become active participants in their own lives.

The young people are active and gladly participate in various activities and experiences outside the house. For example, excursions, lectures, cinema trips, etc. We place emphasis on supporting their wishes and opportunities to get out, experience new things and be part of different communities.

The residents also have a resident council, which helps plan activities and make decisions about, among other things, guidelines and purchases for the house.

We are looking for a pedagogue for a permanent position of 30 hours

As a pedagogue at Fløjen, you become an important part of the professional work around the young people. You will have the opportunity to bring your pedagogical expertise into play and help develop the pedagogical practice. You become part of a very experienced and competent staff group that contributes to professional sparring and reflection.

We are looking for a pedagogue assistant for a maternity leave position of 37 hours

As a pedagogue assistant you will be part of the daily life of the young people and contribute to giving them the opportunity to live an active and independent youth life. You do not need to have experience with visual impairment – the most important thing is that you want to learn, engage and enter into close collaboration with both the young people and colleagues.

It is essential that you

  • are a team player and loyal to joint decisions
  • are keen on personal and professional development, including participation in case supervision
  • are motivated by being an active part of a strong work community
  • can work independently while also contributing constructively to collaboration with colleagues
  • after introduction and training can take on the role of contact person for 1-2 young people
  • preferably have a driver's license and can accompany the young people on trips, events, etc.

We offer

  • an attractive workplace where quality, development and well-being are in focus
  • competent and responsive colleagues and management with a focus on collaboration and professional sparring
  • influence on your own work schedule
  • an varied daily life with good opportunities for competency development, including professional supervision
  • a tailored onboarding program, so you receive a safe and thorough introduction to the job

Knowledge about visual impairment is not a prerequisite for any of the positions. Training and introduction are a natural part of starting at Fløjen.

Working hours

Working hours are distributed across day, evening and overnight on-call shifts, with predominantly evening shifts on weekdays since the young people are away during the day. Every other weekend off.
