About the job
Are you passionate about creating a everyday life with activities, fun and positive energy, while ensuring health-care quality and care? Do you focus on citizens' quality of life and self-determination? Would you as an employee thrive in a workplace where no day is the same? Then the residents of Torvevej need you.
Your working hours will primarily be mixed shifts, every second weekend, and on-call duties 1-4 per month.
Who are we
Torvevej's target group are home-dwelling young people/adults with mental and physical functional impairments. The citizens have varying registered respite days, and the citizen composition can be new from day to day. The target group includes citizens with both pervasive developmental disorders and citizens with multiple disabilities. Common to the target group is that the citizens have needs for care, support, health-care and guidance, and to some extent a daily life at Torvevej that is characterized by structure and recognizability.
Your main tasks
- The citizen-centered collaboration with a focus on both care, nursing and health-care/pedagogical interventions
- Health-care observations, documentation, medication management, quality assurance and patient safety.
- Knowledge sharing and competence development through sparring and reflection with colleagues and key persons
Your competencies
- You are educated as a Social and Health Assistant (SSA) and preferably have experience from the specialized area or a desire to learn it.
- You are adaptable and thrive with varying tasks, including mixed pedagogical, health-care and practical tasks.
- Good at health-care observations: keep an eye on changes in the citizen's physical and mental health status and respond quickly to acute changes.
- You have a flair for nonverbal communication, or a desire and interest to learn it
- You have knowledge/experience with PEG tubes, catheters, dysphagia, mobilization, etc.
- Work on health promotion and preventive health care.
What you get with us
- Energetic and life-affirming citizens and meaningful work tasks
- A trustful professional culture where your health-care perspectives and new initiatives are welcomed
- A staff group that, together with you, focuses on the core task and the citizens' quality of life
- A varied environment where today never resembles yesterday
- A collaborative culture with a high degree of involvement in organizational decisions and development initiatives
- Opportunities for personal and professional development in collaboration with your manager and colleagues
- Training in, among other things, autism, the citizen's right to self-determination, ethics, use of force and sign language
- Neuropedagogical training from colleagues and during supervision
To create the best foundation for the core task, we work at Torvevej in work communities where the contact persons in the communities collaboratively work pedagogically and health-carewise around the citizens.
