About the job
University of Copenhagen is seeking a personnel law specialist or senior consultant to HR Law in the Campus Administration South. Would you like to use your legal expertise to make a difference in an organization whose ambition is to be the best place for the best ideas? And would you like to be part of a totally fantastic and well-functioning team? Then the position as a personnel lawyer in HR Law in Campus Administration Søndre might be just for you!
The University of Copenhagen is Denmark's largest university and enjoys international recognition. Our employees are passionate individuals who are dedicated to lifelong knowledge and learning.
HR at the University of Copenhagen is organized into three HR centers and a group unit linked to the central university administration.
In HR Law Søndre we are now looking for an experienced lawyer who wants to advise managers and assist great colleagues with many varied and exciting tasks in the personnel legal area.
Your tasks
The core task for you as a personnel lawyer at the university is to independently advise managers at all levels on the employment law area, e.g., about:
- Handling of sick leave, performance, and conduct cases
- Handling of harassment cases
- Handling of complaint cases
- The job structure at the university
- Major processes related to non-solicited termination
In addition, you will advise and support your colleagues in HR center administration, HR development partners, and colleagues in the international area. The role also includes presentations of legal and procedural nature and other assistance for competence development as well as sparring in concrete cases and inquiries. There is also concrete legal case processing in the administrative law and data protection law area, etc.
In addition to the general employment law rules in the state, there is a very special set of rules for recruitment and employment of scientific staff at universities in Denmark (the job structure), which we advise leaders about in HR. If you do not already know the rules, this will be something we help you learn as one of the first tasks.
As a personnel lawyer and advisor you will typically be at the front of HR center solutions and the communication of these. You will have the opportunity to work with broad personnel law and also delve more into selected specialized areas and work to ensure legal updating and support compliance, so that we as a united unit deliver the highest quality.
You will also have the opportunity to participate in various knowledge groups and spar across the other HR centers at Østerbro and Frederiksberg as well as Group HR. In HR Søndre we have, in cooperation with the other legal units in HR, started an exciting project on compliance in the HR area.
We offer a varied job with good development opportunities
With us you will have a job with many development opportunities – both professionally and personally.
At the University of Copenhagen you will become part of one of Denmark’s largest HR organizations with about 250 HR employees, of which we are about 60 staff at Søndre Campus. We emphasize that we are part of a larger and very good collaboration with colleagues from the two other HR centers and Group HR.
Our unit - HR Law Søndre Campus - consists of three teams, which in addition to the law team also include the Faculty VIP area (scientific staff – professors, lecturers, etc.) and a data team.
We support and advise the leadership and units at the Faculty of Law, the Faculty of Humanities, the Faculty of Social Sciences, the Faculty of Theology and Campus Søndre.
At HR Søndre we offer
- A professionally interesting and varied task portfolio
- Insight into the university world and the special framework here
- Frameworks for qualified advice to scientific and administrative leaders
- Very well-functioning teams with a focus on good collegiality and good humor
The physical surroundings at Søndre Campus are attractive, and we are located on Campus by Islands Brygge, where students and researchers also have their daily routines. You will therefore become part of the special atmosphere of a university.
We have flexible working conditions and the possibility of home office. And there is also a massage scheme, free parking and a metro right next to the Campus.
About you
You hold a cand.jur., cand.merc.jur. or similar degree. You have broad experience within the employment law area – e.g., from the public sector. We also welcome an application from you if your experiences come from the private sector. It is a major advantage if you have knowledge of the university world and the administrative law area.
You deliver high quality and understand that it is crucial to provide good and rapid advice to our clients. You are a skilled communicator in writing and speech, and you can use English as a working language.
As an experienced personnel lawyer you will quickly have the opportunity to work independently and handle specialized areas, and your colleagues will help you get up to speed in the first period.
We expect that you
- Are solution-oriented
- Focus on a good balance between compliance and the organization’s needs
- Are able to handle several tasks simultaneously
- Take responsibility for your own cases, ensure progress and see your tasks through to the end
- Understand the people involved when we solve difficult cases
- Spar and share knowledge with your colleagues
- Contribute to well-being and the good sense of community
Your salary and employment terms
You will be employed as a special consultant or senior consultant under the applicable collective agreement between the Ministry of Finance and Danish Confederation of Professional Associations (AC agreement) or another relevant agreement depending on your experience and competencies. There is the possibility of negotiating supplements based on your qualifications.
The weekly working time is on average 37 hours, but we are accommodating to requests for a shorter weekly working time.
Here you will work
HR Søndre is located at Njalsgade 76, 2300 Copenhagen S (Islands Brygge).
