About the job

Do you want to help create strong communities where children thrive, develop and experience mastery every day?

At Horsens City School, Fussingsvej and Kildegade departments, we are seeking three dedicated pedagogues for permanent positions - two positions at Fussingsvej and the third at Kildegade. All positions are 37 hours per week - at Fussingsvej there is potential for reduced hours by arrangement.

We are looking for you who are passionate about making a difference for all children, and who see relationships, communities and wellbeing as the foundation for learning and development.

About the positions

Fussingsvej

You will be part of our phase 1 (kindergarten through 4th grade), where the work is distributed between school and after-school program (SFO).

One of the positions will primarily be attached to 1st grade, while the other position also includes hours in our intermediate forms. Both positions involve close cross-professional collaboration with teachers and pedagogues regarding the pupils’ wellbeing, development and learning.

Kildegade

At Kildegade you will be part of our kindergarten class, where you will have a close collaboration with our kindergarten class leader. You will be a consistent adult for the pupils both during school and SFO time.

In addition, you will become part of our culture profile at Kildegade, which shapes the pupils’ school days in several ways. Every Tuesday morning the whole department gathers for joint choir, the lower grades have K- subjects every Tuesday in the second module, where during the school year they meet dance, theatre, music and visual arts in 10-week cycles. In addition, we actively use our local area – playgrounds, nature and urban spaces – all within walking distance. This provides a varied school day with strong cultural, creative and community-building learning experiences.

At Horsens City School we work purposefully to create sustainable and inclusive communities where all children feel they belong and have significance.

In everyday life you collaborate closely with colleagues, management, parents and external partners to create the best possibilities for children’s development. Tasks vary throughout the school year and provide opportunities for both professional depth and great influence on practice.

We are looking for you who

  • Are educated as a pedagog or are close to finishing your education
  • Have an inclusive view of children and see difference as a strength
  • Are passionate about being in the SFO
  • Have knowledge of inclusive communities and the low arousal approach
  • Are academically sound, reflective and acknowledging in your practice
  • Thrive in professional learning communities (PLF) and actively contribute to joint development
  • Can plan and implement preventive, anticipatory and intervention measures in close collaboration with teachers and other staff
  • Can translate observations and professional reflections into action plans and status descriptions
  • Place high value on collaboration with parents and see them as an important resource
  • Contribute positively to the work environment with engagement, responsibility and good humor
  • Are flexible, adaptable and ready to develop practice together with others

What you get with us

  • An attractive and development-oriented school with high ambitions on behalf of the children
  • Skilled and engaged colleagues who are passionate about community
  • Good physical premises and facilities
  • Focus on both academic learning, wellbeing and personal mastery
  • Opportunity to make a concrete difference for children every single day
  • Great influence on your own practice through work in professional learning communities
  • Mentor scheme to ensure a safe and good start
  • Common pedagogical PLF every other week
  • Fixed common preparation time with pedagogue colleagues
  • Participation in the year group's PLF every week
  • Access to Horsens Municipality’s introductory program for newly employed pedagogues
