Two practice-oriented knowledge-center profiles sought for day care and school

In Horsens Municipality we have a clear political ambition that more students should have better participation opportunities in mainstream communities through practical support of the municipality's preschools and schools. The vision is to bring resources and knowledge into play exactly where everyday life unfolds in a strong collaboration with the pedagogical staff in preschools and schools.

As a knowledge center staff member you will be part of our overall support system, working closely with daily pedagogical practice. You will have a primary attachment to either the preschool or school area, but we emphasize that you can participate in a cross-disciplinary team across the entire area. We see it as a strength to bring different professional backgrounds and perspectives into play in solving our shared task of creating the best conditions for learning, well-being and development.

Who are we?

Knowledge Center for Day Care and School is a newly established pedagogical expedition team consisting of a total of 12 dedicated practitioners, each with their own expertise, collaborating with the municipality's professional staff on a wide range of pedagogical development tasks. We constitute a flexible and dynamic unit that moves out quickly and is expected both to support operations and drive development in day care and schools.

We operate at the intersection of theory and practice and step directly into rooms and classrooms to strengthen participation opportunities for all children and young people in the municipality. We value integrity, collaboration, humor and a high professional ambition. We strive to develop professionally together and continually become more skilled within our field.

We have office centrally on Fuglevangsvej, but our daily work is primarily anchored in practice, which is why we spend the majority of our working time in day care and schools. We have a close collaboration with Cross-cutting Unit for Learning, and together we form the close support system that supports the municipality's day care and schools in creating strong learning environments.

Who are you?

We are looking for new colleagues who can their field with a strong passion for translating data and knowledge about pedagogy and didactics into practice-oriented competence development that makes a difference in everyday life. The role requires an investigative and professional approach to collaboration and an ability to navigate safely in situations where the task is complex and ever-changing.

The position requires strong relational skills and a clear ability to create structure, systematic work and overview in collaborative constellations where many actors and perspectives are at play. It is expected that you have a good understanding of all aspects of the pedagogical task, spanning a broadly composed group of children and young people, from the most vulnerable to those who need to be met with greater professional challenges in their daily life.

We envision you as a dedicated and skilled practitioner with relevant education and proven experience from mainstream or special pedagogical day care and/or school practice. In addition, we would like you to have an academic postgraduate degree such as a master's or other advanced education in pedagogy, psychology or equivalent.
