Chief Financial Officer for a Nordic technology company

Our client is an established Danish technology company that develops and delivers integrated solutions that combine hardware, software and SaaS. For more than two decades the company has built a strong market position. From the headquarters in the Greater Copenhagen area, it has grown into a Nordic technology company with around 150 employees, several thousand customers across a range of European markets, and a large installed base of solutions.

The solutions range from physical devices and backend systems to cloud-based platforms, mobile solutions and integrations to customers’ ERP systems and other platforms. The broad technology platform enables the delivery of cohesive solutions while supporting customers’ operations, data, monitoring and reporting.

The company is now entering a new strategic development phase. The ambition is to move from being a provider of hardware and software solutions to becoming an even more scalable platform company with SaaS-based business models at the center. Central to this is a new consolidated platform that can be used across industries, devices, partners and customer systems.

The company has a strong installed base, a substantial market position and ambitions for further international growth. Therefore scaling, financial transparency, system support and performance management are becoming increasingly important.

To support this development we are now seeking

Chief Financial Officer

As CFO you will have overall responsibility for strengthening and professionalising the finance function and ensuring that finance supports the company’s continued growth.

Among other things you will be responsible for

  • Leading and developing the finance team
  • Ensuring efficient financial operations with a focus on liquidity, working capital, invoicing, order-to-cash, credit management and debtors
  • Strengthening forecasting, result management, month-end close and management reporting with a focus on forward-looking decisions
  • Driving process optimization and efficiency across finance, systems and operations
  • Creating transparency across software, hardware, SaaS, projects and service
  • Developing financial performance management with KPIs such as ARR, NRR, churn and CAC payback
  • Further developing finance across the Nordic countries
  • Playing a central role in the upcoming ERP transformation
  • Supporting capital structure, funding and potential M&A processes
  • Being a proactive and challenging sparring partner for the CEO and the management team

Your profile: A commercial and operational CFO

You have a strong financial background and preferably experience from software, technology or a company with SaaS-based business models, ideally in combination with hardware.

You may already be a CFO. You may also come from a role as Finance Director, VP Finance or Head of Finance and be ready to take the next step.

You thrive close to the business and combine strong financial expertise with commercial understanding, leadership, and the ability to create structure and momentum.

Experience with group structures, ERP and complex SaaS-based business models is an advantage.

Personal qualifications

You are analytical, critically thinking and risk-aware, and you naturally challenge assumptions before decisions are made. You maintain a realistic and sober perspective, even when the organization has high ambitions and strong momentum.

You have an analytical approach that goes beyond the numbers themselves. You seek to understand the contexts behind the results and identify where the company can improve going forward. For you, finance is a strategic partner in the business, and you are driven by creating more efficient processes, optimizations and a solid foundation for good decisions.

You communicate clearly and are able to create direction and understanding in your own organization. As a leader you combine high professional standards with a strong human dimension, and you have an eye for how employees can be developed, motivated and best utilized.

You thrive as an active sparring partner for the CEO and the rest of the management team and are comfortable challenging constructively.

What we offer

You will have a broad and influential CFO role with good opportunities to influence both the finance function and the company’s future development.

You will become part of a company where finance should be an active business partner, and where you can combine operational responsibility with strategic influence.
