About the job

In the pest control unit we take pride in helping Copenhageners and the city’s business community to find the cause of why rats come and to solve the problem. As an environmental inspector your primary tasks will consist of

• driving out to citizens, restaurateurs or others who need help to combat rats and investigate the problem and advise on rat-proofing and prevention
• handling case processing in practice and digitally in connection with your inspections.

Who are you?

You must have or be able to have the following

• knowledge of construction and civil works, e.g. as a building craftsman or experience with sewerage, etc.
• a driving license for a regular car
• IT skills at user level including for case handling
• linguistic abilities to express yourself in Danish in writing and speech
• to communicate in English in ordinary conversation.

It would be an advantage if you have authorization to combat rats. If you do not already have the authorization, we will pay for the authorization course at Miljøstyrelsen (the Environmental Protection Agency).

You will perform tasks at our citizens’ homes as well as at the office. It is therefore important that you are good at planning your day and can follow up on tasks to the letter, both practically and administratively. The written and administrative work accounts for about 1½-3 hours daily.

Since we enter private homes as authorities, you must also be willing to present a criminal record check.

About us

In the pest control unit we handle the control of rats in the municipality and supervise hygiene conditions in, among other things, residential buildings. The pest control unit is part of the Department of Climate, Environment and Technology, which consists of 800 employees who every day work to ensure Copenhageners a clean, green and inviting city on competitive terms.

Terms of employment

Salary and employment terms in accordance with the applicable collective agreement for environmental inspectors. We would like you to start on 1 January 2027 (preferably earlier).

In addition, it is the Climate, Environment and Technical Administration that is responsible for cleaning, maintenance and development of the city’s roads and parks, as well as parking enforcement.
