About the job

Would you like to have an exciting job where you make a difference every day within care and welfare?

Then Randers Municipality offers an exciting education as a SOSU helper. We will ensure you are equipped to provide the best possible care and welfare. So if you want a daily life where human contact is at the center, the education as a SOSU helper is something for you.

The education as a SOSU helper

You will as a SOSU helper trainee have a 37-hour work week, where you follow a work plan during the on-the-job training and a school timetable during the school period. You will be paid throughout the training, which lasts 14 months.

You alternate between three school periods and two training periods. During the training periods the working hours will primarily be day shifts, on weekdays and on weekends, but evening and night shifts may occur.

During the training you will

  • Gain basic knowledge of personal and practical assistance, care and welfare
  • Learn to communicate and work with citizens/clients, relatives and colleagues
  • Gain competencies so you can act according to the citizen's wishes and needs
  • Receive instruction that alternates between group work, presentations, discussions, practical exercises and study visits
  • Be in training programs at the municipality's nursing homes and in home care

We are looking for you who…

  • Wish to take responsibility for your own learning and development
  • Enjoy helping other people
  • Take pride in always keeping appointments and being well prepared
  • Are goal-oriented, have an overview and are curious about the subject
  • Can ride a bike, as this is necessary in home care

You must have completed or be in progress with Grundforløb 2 in the Social and Health Education, or be Realkompetencevurderet (RKV) to have equivalent prerequisites, in order to start the education.

We offer…

A meaningful job where YOU make a difference for citizens every day. You will have days where you explore care, welfare and life histories, and help to improve citizens' quality of life. Your competencies will develop during the training in line with both on-the-job training and school periods, so you gain a high professional level within health and welfare.

We place great emphasis on you feeling welcome and safe in the profession. You will therefore join an open culture where innovation and questions are always accepted. We believe that we develop by being curious and asking questions. We become wiser and better at performing our work.

You have the opportunity to further your education as a SOSU assistant if you later want to add more competencies to your profile.

Last but not least, we offer apprentice wages to all, and for those who are over 25 we offer adult apprenticeship wages.

We look forward to receiving a motivated application from you, in which you describe what you can contribute as our future apprentice and why we should choose exactly you.

Further information about the position can be obtained by contacting the training coordinator: Bente Juulsgaard at phone 51 20 19 12.

You can find more information about the training at www.sosuiranders.dk

Applications are sent via Randers Municipality's website no later than November 8, 2026. We expect to conduct interviews on November 12, 2026.
