Two 1st Engineers for the Fisheries Control Vessel North Sea

Would you like to join a small team that contributes to carrying out fisheries control at sea by performing maintenance and service in the engine room? The Danish Environmental Protection Agency (Miljøstyrelsen) is therefore seeking two First Marine Engineers for the fisheries control vessel Nordsøen.

About us

Miljøstyrelsen is responsible for controlling fisheries. The agency's two fisheries control vessels, Havternen and Nordsøen, perform fisheries control at sea and are part of the maritime search and rescue service.

The position of First Marine Engineer is on the fisheries control vessel Nordsøen, which carries out control in all Danish waters. The vessel operates according to a watch schedule 1:2, with an offshore period of about 10–14 days at a time. The engine room is staffed by a First Marine Engineer and a Chief Engineer/Maintenance Manager.

About the position

As a First Marine Engineer, you will ensure that the vessel's engines and technical equipment are maintained and serviced in accordance with applicable statutory requirements and maintenance terms. You will plan the daily work in the engine room and on deck, and in close collaboration with the Chief Engineer you will be responsible for the maintenance of the vessel. The vessel uses Sertica. You will participate in surveys carried out in collaboration with DNV.

The vessel is equipped with the latest MAN diesel-electric machinery including a battery pack. This gives you the opportunity to work with the operation of a hybrid system on ships.

About you

You hold a First Class Marine Engineer (Skibsmaskinmester) certificate, health certificate, proof as a fire and smoke diver and fire leader, as well as seafaring safety & rescue.

Salary and employment terms

Employment is as a civil servant, with permanent appointment after a satisfactory probationary period. Compensation is according to the applicable agreement between the Association of Technical and Administrative Civil Servants and the Ministry of Finance, as well as the applicable pay placement agreement for ship officers under CO10/DTSs (TAT) negotiations area.

Travel expenses between residence and ship are reimbursed.

The employment area is the Ministry of Environment with associated institutions and service therefore on the fisheries control vessel Nordsøen for now.
