About the job

There is a new permanent position created as a mechanical engineer or equivalent at Biogas Lemvig, as we grow and expand the biogas plant. You can join now but we are happy to wait for the right colleague.

  • Location : Pillevej 12, Lemvig
  • Organisation : About 13 employees
  • Your reference : Maintenance Manager Dan Grummesgaard

We want to strengthen the company’s organization for the already initiated and upcoming expansion. Therefore, this new mechanical engineer position is established. You will get a rare opportunity to both create structure, influence the solutions and see the effect of your work close to the daily business.

The biogas plant has been in uninterrupted operation since 1992 and is today one of Denmark’s large biogas plants. Slurry from farms in Lemvig Municipality as well as waste and by-products from industrial production are utilized for electricity and heat production. Electricity production from the biogas has since 1992 covered the annual electricity consumption for all residents in Lemvig Municipality, and the heat production corresponds to over 3,000 households’ annual heat consumption.

It continues until about 2028. Thereafter we will switch to sending biogas into the natural gas grid, and the electricity and heat delivery will shift to other sources. The five cogeneration units we keep so we can sell electricity during peak loads and deliver electricity services such as aFRR.

The job includes the following

  • Project management of the expansion with biogas upgrading, cleaning of the biogas before upgrading and establishment of a new heat plant, in close collaboration with the external advisory team already in progress.
  • The daily operation of the biogas plant, which includes all routine repair work on technical equipment at the biogas plant, both mechanical, pneumatic and electrical, after thorough training.
  • Diverse ad hoc tasks.

There is constantly a lot of new technical, biological and chemical to relate to. Most of all it is detailed design and construction of new plants that will fill your tasks in the first years.

The job is at times hectic and requires flexibility as well as a certain robustness from you. For example, planned maintenance jobs may be suddenly changed due to technical outages elsewhere in production.

  • Good colleagues

We help each other and value professionalism, respect and a strong sense of community across functions.

  • Order and safety

We place emphasis on structure, propriety and tidy work areas. Good order is also an important safety aspect.

  • Proximity to decisions

You work closely with both management and daily operations and gain direct influence in the matters that affect the company’s development.

  • Influence in everyday life

There are short decision paths, a lot of independence and good opportunities to shape the position and your own work processes.

IT

Since the biogas plant is equipped with a lot of IT equipment and will in the future be equipped with additional IT equipment, it will be required that you are interested in implementing new IT programs and routines.

Shift

After a thorough training period you will be able to join the shift roster at the biogas plant. This entails that you approximately every 7 weeks must take care of the entire biogas plant alone outside normal working hours. The shift is managed, among other things, with a laptop from your own home. The IT program that controls the biogas production is IGSS32, which you will eventually like to become proficient in at a superuser level. You always have a back-up you can call.

Working hours

Typically Monday–Friday from 7:00 to 15:00. However, periods with varying workloads should be expected.

We offer

A very interesting workplace with good colleagues, where the tone is friendly, cozy and informal among all employees. It is also a workplace where we all care about keeping things neat, orderly and tidy both inside and outside. We are all very prepared to help you settle in well and hope you will enjoy being part of our team.

Your professional profile

  • It is important that you create and maintain a sense of community with your colleagues, which contributes to solving the tasks.
  • You contribute positively to the community and can operate in an organization where director, administration, drivers, technicians and other colleagues collaborate respectfully and informally.
  • You thrive when plans change.

Additional competences that would be an advantage, but not a requirement

  • You have a craft-oriented education as automation, auto mechanic, blacksmith, electrician or similar, prior to your higher education.
  • You have experience with similar technical work.

You must have, or be willing to take, the following courses

  • Forklift certificate B (7 days)
  • Telescopic handler certificate (5 days)
  • Gas engine course (2 weeks)

You will during your shifts come to operate a forklift or telescopic handler. Therefore, if you do not already possess these certificates, you will be sent on a course to acquire certificates to legally operate/drive these machines.

Distance requirement

Since during your shifts you must be able to quickly reach the biogas plant in the event of a call-out, it is a requirement that you live at a maximum of 30 minutes driving distance from the biogas plant.

The salary is negotiated individually based on your qualifications. In addition you will receive:

  • On-call allowance per on-call week. Call-outs are paid as overtime.
  • Pension according to the GLS-A agreement.
  • Personal health insurance.
  • Paid courses and course time.

A workplace where people and professionalism meet
