Two introductory positions in Clinical Microbiology, Aarhus University Hospital

At Clinical Microbiology, Aarhus University Hospital in Skejby, two one-year introductory positions (6620-32-63-i-03) and (6620-32-63-i-04) are available for filling on respectively February 1, 2027 and February 15, 2027, or by agreement.

The positions are part of the department's 6-shift medical on-call rota, consisting of day service with subsequent on-call duties outside the place of service until 23:00, every day of the week. The department has senior physicians on 24-hour backup duty.

The person hired in one of the two positions shall perform tasks related to clinical microbiological diagnostics and advisory work, and actively participate in the department's teaching. You must also daily be able to contribute to the good interdisciplinary working and educational environment.

We place high value on the professional role, including being autonomous, taking responsibility, showing initiative, putting engagement and willingness into collaborative relationships, being able to keep many balls in the air at once, and having an eye for patient safety. The work functions are busy, and you must be efficient in making decisions and completing tasks, as well as be good at switching between tasks. The positions are full-time, i.e., employment 37 hours/week on average.

We would like you to have an educational aim with the appointment, and that you have good clinical experience. The position is aimed at doctors who have not previously completed an introductory position in the specialty.

The department is one of the country’s largest and most specialized microbiology departments, which provides clinical microbiology for hospitals, specialists, and general practitioners in the entire Region of Central Denmark (Region Midtjylland). We therefore work with all areas of the specialty, including bacteriology, virology, mycology, parasitology, and infection prevention.

The department trains specialists in clinical microbiology in both the introductory and main training.

We can offer a workplace and a specialty in development with a good collegial working climate. There will be good opportunities to get introduced to research, as the department is research-active and has good research facilities.

Salary and employment terms in accordance with the applicable collective agreement. The employment is conditional on a satisfactory child safety certificate and a satisfactory authorization.
