About the job

Are you a professionally strong and responsible nurse who is passionate about trusting relationships? Are you looking for a job where you can apply your health care skills in a multicultural environment that is not offered many places in Denmark? Then read on, because right now we are looking for two nurses as of November 1, 2026 (or by agreement).

At AsylSyds Sundhedsklinik you primarily work on weekdays from 8:00 to 15:30.

Responsibilities

  • Nurse consultations with residents of all ages and with many different cultural, linguistic and social backgrounds.
  • Health services that meet the Danish Immigration Service's guidelines for health care, including the principle of necessary health care provision (NUS).
  • Collaboration with nursing colleagues, a health visitor, and a doctor.
  • Administrative tasks, including applications, status reports, etc., that support and ensure cohesive patient pathways.
  • Interdisciplinary cooperation with other relevant internal and external partners.

Your profile

  • You are welcoming and curious in working with both residents and colleagues.
  • You are able to quickly establish a safe and calm contact with residents – even when communication may be challenged by language and culture.
  • You work systematically, structured, and take responsibility in the joint task solving.
  • You can remain calm and create security – even when the situation is complex.
  • It is an advantage if you have basic English proficiency.
  • You preferably have experience with conflict management.
  • You do not need to have experience from the asylum sector – the most important is that you are curious, professionally engaged, and eager to learn.

We offer

As a nurse at AsylSyd you will have a great influence on planning your tasks. You will become part of an exciting workplace with many different functions and professional backgrounds.

We work in a particularly humane and social context where empathy, respect and understanding of residents' situations are prerequisites for delivering quality asylum operations. This means, among other things, that we take our professionalism seriously - but we do not necessarily take ourselves too seriously.

You will become part of a dedicated and committed workplace. We work towards common goals with a high degree of daily variability that regularly places new demands on you and your colleagues' competences.

You have the opportunity for professional sparring, regular supervision, and ongoing offers to participate in relevant courses and training programs as part of your personal and professional development.

About us

AsylSyd is the operating operator for the Danish Immigration Service and is organized as a department under Tønder Municipality. Our purpose is to provide residents with a safe, dignified and meaningful stay during the Immigration Service's processing of their asylum case and up to the decision on residence permit or departure. Through our operator contract, we provide accommodation for residents at our reception centres, including families, single adults and unaccompanied minors.

The health department at AsylSyd currently has clinics at Center Aaløkke in Løgumkloster, Center Hviding south of Ribe and a child centre in Tønder. Additionally, appointments are available at Center Nr. Løgum near Løgumkloster.

Our health team consists of nurses, health visitors, a doctor and a health manager. We are a department that works closely together on task solving. We have a sharp focus on a healthy working environment where we all take responsibility and help each other.
