Handicap Center Funen is seeking a development consultant with strong pedagogical expertise and a desire to teach, analyze and qualify practice.

Handicap Center Funen is part of the Region of Southern Denmark and offers residential care and activity and social interaction services to citizens with substantial and lasting physical and mental disabilities. The citizens have composite and often complex problems and can sometimes exhibit outwardly aggressive or self-harming behavior.

As a development consultant you will be a central professional driving force in the center's work with quality, documentation and competence development. You will work closely with the center's professional leaders, department heads and pedagogical staff and will have an important role in translating professional knowledge, data and analyses into concrete development in the departments.

The position is organizationally placed in the Development Team, which in addition to you consists of 4 consultants and a chief consultant who leads the team.

Your main tasks

In the position you will among other things

• Teach the center's foundational training

Plan, implement and develop training programs for new employees and other staff – with a focus on pedagogical methods, ethics, professional quality and high quality in practice.

• Support the professional quality in the departments

Be a professional sparring partner for professional leaders, support the implementation of pedagogical methods and workflows and contribute to ongoing professional development.

• Qualification of dialogue with the citizens' home municipalities

Support the departments in preparing for meetings with the citizens' home municipalities about the delivered services, including refining descriptions and proposals for interventions.

• Coordinate training programs for pedagogical staff

Collaborate with UCL on planning and conducting a competence development program for the center's pedagogical staff from 2027, and ensure that the content is linked to the center's practice and strategic direction.

• Use of force – quality assurance and analysis

Ensure the quality of registrations and documentation, conduct semi-annual analyses of use of force and communicate results and pedagogical learning points to management and relevant professional forums.

• Work with the quality model

Contribute to the center's work with Region Southern Denmark's quality model, including

• Plan and conduct professional audits.
• Develop and deliver presentations and workshops on “Good documentation” to professional managers.

There may also be other development, analysis and project tasks by agreement.

Your profile

We are seeking a development consultant who is first and foremost an experienced educator – and who also has experience with consultancy and teaching assignments.

We imagine that you

• Have a basic pedagogical education supplemented with relevant additional/continuing education.
• Have substantial experience from the social sector, e.g., from residential care facilities or other specialized services.
• Have worked with citizens with both physical and mental impairments, often with complex problems and sometimes outwardly aggressive behavior
• Have broad knowledge of and practical experience with pedagogical methods and approaches such as LA2u, KRAP, neuro-pedagogy and the rehabilitative way of working.
• Have experience with teaching and internal professional communication.
• Preferably have experience as a consultant, professional facilitator or key person, where you have worked with development, implementation and follow-up on professional initiatives.
• Are accustomed to working with documentation, quality and preferably with audits or quality models.
• Thrive in cross-disciplinary collaboration across disciplines and units and can build trusting relationships and professional dialogue.
• Work independently, in a structured way and can handle several concurrent tasks.

Your work address will be Skaboeshusevej 90, 5800 Nyborg. The job requires that you can easily travel to our other locations, so it is necessary that you have a driver’s license and a car.

You will be employed under the applicable collective agreement. Employment is conditional on a satisfactory criminal record.

The region is obliged to inform you of the starting salary for the position. You will be told base salary, centrally set allowances and pension in the collective agreement . In addition to the starting salary, the pay may include any negotiated allowances depending on the position, your experience and qualifications.
