Unclassified physician for the Department of Geriatrics and Multimorbidity

The Department of Elderly and Multimorbidity at North Zealand Hospital is seeking an unclassified doctor for our geriatric ward in Frederikssund.

With us you will meet patients with multimorbidity, frailty and complex medical issues. You will become part of an interdisciplinary environment with a focus on clinical quality, supervision and professional development.

About the position

Your primary role will be on the ward in Frederikssund, where you participate in ward rounds and the daily treatment of patients with geriatric issues. There will also be opportunities to work in the Elderly Reception in Hillerød until 20:00.

The tasks include, among other things

• Ward rounds, assessment and treatment of geriatric patients.
• Interdisciplinary collaboration with nurses, therapists and other partners.
• Planning of patient pathways, admissions and discharges.
• Participation in the department's on-call duties.

The on-call work includes an on-site shift on weekdays until 17:15 and weekend rounds approximately every fourth weekend.

About the department

The Department of Elderly and Multimorbidity provides evaluation and treatment of elderly patients with multimorbidity, frailty and complex treatment needs.

The department consists of a geriatric ward with 25 beds in Frederikssund, the Elderly Reception with 8 beds in Hillerød, a geriatric team with referral and supervision functions as well as the Ambulatory Clinic for Geriatric Diseases, including fall assessment.

The coming years will bring significant development for the department. From January 1, 2027 the region will assume treatment responsibility for 169 health and care places spread across seven sites in North Zealand, and the functions will be consolidated at the New North Zealand Hospital.

Your salary and employment terms: Authorized health personnel with patient contact who were educated in another EU/EEA country than Denmark must meet the Danish language requirements when employed by the Capital Region of Denmark.* *Authorized health personnel with patient contact who were educated in another EU/EEA country than Denmark must have passed a Danish test (Danish Education 3, equivalent to the 9th grade leaving exam) or at minimum be able to pass the test no later than 1 year after employment, or have obtained equivalent Danish language skills in another way.

The Danish test must be passed with at least the following scores:

• oral communication with a score of 10 • reading comprehension with a score of 7 • written expression with a score of 7
