About the job

One of our educators in the green room has chosen to retire. Therefore we are seeking a qualified educator for a permanent 32-hour position in the kindergarten starting 1 January 2027.

Would you like to be part of a kindergarten in an exciting pedagogical development, where we together create a shared direction? We are a relatively new staff/management team that is actively developing our pedagogical learning environments - both indoors and outdoors. At the same time, we are preparing a new local pedagogical curriculum, on which you will have the opportunity to put your mark.

About Ulsted Village Scheme

Ulsted Village Scheme consists of kindergarten, school and DUS with a total of about 25 staff, a department head/deputy chief and a school principal.

● Kindergarten: We have about 25 children (3–6 years).

● The school and DUS: 0.–6. grade with about 75 pupils and about 35 children in DUS. The school and DUS are on the same site, while the kindergarten is located about 300 meters away.

We are seeking a qualified educator who is curious about children's perspectives, values community highly and wishes to be an active part of a staff that together develops the pedagogical practice.

Who are we?

At Ulsted kindergarten we believe that it is the adults' responsibility to create safe relationships as well as clear, predictable and developmental frameworks. We value a culture characterized by professional curiosity about both our own and each other’s pedagogical practices - where we reflect together and learn from each other.

Our core task is to create the best conditions for all children's learning, development, wellbeing and formation. We take as our starting point early detection, ICDP, NEST and a mentalizing approach and we work systematically with reflection and evaluation through action learning processes.

Play is central in our everyday life. We are present and participatory adults on the floor and on the playground, emphasizing developmental dialogue and incorporating children's perspectives in our pedagogical practice. Our goal is to create a good childhood where all children feel seen, heard and understood and where each child feels like a meaningful part of the community.

We offer

● A workplace in strong professional development, with a focus on high quality.

● Committed and professionally skilled colleagues, where there is also room for laughter and humor.

● A professional work community with strong alignment toward joint decisions.

● An ambitious work environment - we strive for high well-being and learning for all children and adults, where openness, communication and psychological safety are keywords.

● Good development opportunities and a shared educational uplift.

● A presence, listening and supportive leadership, close to daily life.

● Close and professional collaboration across the entire Village Scheme.

● Support from an active board and an engaged support association

Who we are looking for

● You are a educated educator with competencies in the kindergarten field and preferably experience in special education.

● You are dependable and flexible.

● You have an eye for strong learning environments and master creating participation opportunities for all children — including children in vulnerable positions.

● You take responsibility for your tasks, can work independently, take initiative and actively contribute to high quality.

● You are a team player who contributes actively to a professional learning community.

● You are a clear adult with strong relational skills, and can maintain calm and overview in pressurized situations.

● You value a trusting parental collaboration with clear, open and binding communication.

● You are loyal and work from the decisions made at different levels.

Everyday life, activities and traditions

● Close community: Closeness and strong collaboration across kindergarten, school and DUS form the core of our village scheme.

● Professional learning communities: We work with Aalborg Municipality’s quality markers for good teaching, good leisure education and day care.

● Local pedagogical curriculum: Forms the foundation of our pedagogical work and sets the direction for our daily practice.

● Activities and traditions in the kindergarten: Cooking days, autumn week with among others apple juice, Lucia celebrations at the rehabilitation center, trip to Klokkerholm Zoo, a theme on emotions and much more that develops the individual and the community.

● Across our Village Scheme: We have, among other things, a shared family day with fundraising for “bag for the children’s phone” and a Movement Day with anti-bullying activities, as well as joint development evenings for staff.
