About the job
As head of department for the newly established Department of Strategic Projects and Offshore in HSE, you will play a central role in promoting safety, the working environment and learning in some of Energinet's biggest and most complex construction projects and offshore activities. You will lead a skilled professional team and be responsible for setting the direction for both employees, collaboration and the continued development of the HSE area.
”We succeed when safety and the working environment become a natural part of decisions and daily practice. It requires professional environments, close collaboration with the business and a persistent willingness to learn and improve,” says VP, Jes Søndergaard.
You contribute to a clear safety culture through visible and consistent HSE practice
As part of the development of HSE, the Department of Strategic Projects and Offshore is established. You will lead a team of occupational safety coordinators and construction site managers who support Energinet's largest construction, project and offshore activities through occupational safety coordination, construction site management, safety leadership, learning from incidents and implementation of HSE initiatives close to daily practice.
As head of department you will be responsible for the department's professional direction, development and results. Your areas of responsibility include, among others, the following:
- Build strong collaborative relationships with project management, operations organizations, contractors and specialists across Energinet
- Develop employees, professionalism and ways of collaborating, and ensure a clear direction for the department
- Ensure prioritization, quality and coherence in the department's support of strategic projects and offshore activities through professional communities and close collaboration
- Create the right framework for bringing HSE expertise early into play and close to decisions
- Contribute to common methods, learning and consistent task execution across HSE and contribute to the overall development of the area as a member of the leadership team
”I expect that during your first year in the role you will raise the department's professional environment so that learning, knowledge sharing and development are supported across functions. At the same time you will establish yourself as a trusted sparring partner with a clear professional direction and high quality in the HSE professional support of strategic projects and offshore activities,” elaborates Jes.
To achieve the desired results in the role, we imagine you
- Have managerial experience or experience from a similar role with responsibility for specialists, professional environments or complex collaboration interfaces
- Have experience from the occupational health and safety, safety, project or construction area or from other complex professional environments with many stakeholders
- Are able to translate strategic ambitions into concrete actions and results
- Are motivated by developing both people, professionalism and the organization
- Thrives in an environment characterized by development and change, where not all answers are given in advance
- Create buy-in and collaboration across organizations, disciplines and stakeholders
