About the job

Would you like to help ensure stable operations at a brand-new Danish factory?

We are looking for a responsible and practically oriented maintenance mechanic for our small caliber production, who will contribute to stable and efficient operation through preventive maintenance, systematic troubleshooting, and mechanical repairs.

You will become part of Nammo Denmark A/S in Elling and will have an important role in keeping our machines and technical equipment in good condition. Here, quality, precision, safety and collaboration are essential for the production to function as it should.

The position will initially be on day shift during the establishment phase, but is expected to transition to a rotating shift later. It is therefore important that you are prepared for this change in working hours.

Your role

You report to the maintenance manager and become part of the maintenance department, where you work with both planned maintenance tasks and on-site operational disturbances.

Your daily work includes preventive maintenance, troubleshooting on machines and production equipment, as well as repair and replacement of mechanical components. You also perform practical workshop tasks and contribute to identifying and preventing faults that could lead to unnecessary production stoppages.

You collaborate closely with production, your colleagues in maintenance, and relevant technical responsible specialists. At the same time, it is important that you document your work, follow applicable instructions, and respond to faults and deviations.

You have several years of experience with mechanical maintenance and can quickly become part of the daily operation and take on your own areas of responsibility and tasks.

Travel activity in connection with training

In the first months of employment, you can expect a fair amount of travel, as training and knowledge transfer will primarily take place at Nammo’s sites in Sweden and Norway. The travels are to ensure that you gain the necessary insight, training, and experience to perform your role at Nammo Denmark A/S.

Your primary tasks

Preventive maintenance and service

  • Perform planned maintenance and service on machines and technical equipment.
  • Inspect mechanical components such as transmissions, bearings, drive systems, and sealing elements.
  • Identify wear, emerging faults, and need for repair.
  • Contribute to preventing production stoppages through timely maintenance.

Troubleshooting and repair

  • Troubleshoot machines and production equipment during operational disturbances.
  • Identify and rectify mechanical faults within your own competence level.
  • Carry out repairs and replace defective components.
  • Respond to recurring faults and help determine the root cause of problems.
  • Call in relevant technical assistance when a task requires additional competencies or authorization.

Mechanical repairs and workshop work

  • Perform mechanical disassembly, repair, adjustment, and assembly of components.
  • Use hand tools and relevant workshop equipment correctly.
  • Carry out welding within your own qualifications and relevant approvals.
  • Machine materials and fabricate or modify smaller parts as per instructions.
  • Assist with fabrication and assembly of relevant parts as needed.

Documentation and material handling

  • Prepare work tasks and assemble necessary spare parts, materials, and tools.
  • Develop and maintain work instructions and methods for maintenance work and ensure they are known and used in practice.
  • Educate and guide colleagues in maintenance methods and follow up to ensure work is performed in accordance with applicable instructions.
  • Record completed work, time usage, and used spare parts in the maintenance system.
  • Follow up on missing materials and report needs for further maintenance.
  • Check your own work and ensure that the documentation is correct and complete.

Safety, quality and improvements

  • Follow applicable work instructions, safety procedures and quality requirements.
  • Use prescribed personal protective equipment and relevant safety gear.
  • Respond to risks, faults and deviations and report them according to applicable procedures.
  • Maintain order and tidiness at the workplace.
  • Contribute with suggestions that can improve maintenance work and operational reliability.

If you are experienced, you will also have the opportunity to work on more complex mechanical tasks, contribute to root-cause analyses, and share your knowledge with less experienced colleagues.

Who are you?

We imagine that you have a relevant vocational education in mechanics, for example as an industrial mechanic or a blacksmith, or you have corresponding practical skills and experience.

It is an advantage if you have experience with mechanical maintenance, troubleshooting on machines, or repair of production equipment. Knowledge of mechanical components, welding, material processing and maintenance systems is also relevant.

You do not need to be able to do everything from day one. The most important thing is that you have a good technical understanding, a desire to learn, and take responsibility for the quality of your work.

As a person you are

  • Responsible and meticulous – you care that the work is performed correctly.
  • Systematic and solution-oriented – you work methodically with troubleshooting and repairs.
  • Practically inclined – you enjoy working with machines, tools and technical solutions.
  • Collaborative – you help your colleagues and readily share your knowledge.
  • Flexible and eager to learn – you can handle both planned tasks and urgent operational needs.
  • Quality and safety-conscious – you follow instructions and respond to faults and unsafe conditions.

You can communicate in Danish, both orally and in writing, and you have English skills that enable you to understand relevant technical instructions and documentation.

It is a condition that you work within your qualifications and the necessary approvals. You must also be prepared to undergo the training and competence development that the tasks require.

Why Nammo?

At Nammo Denmark you have the opportunity to be part of building a new Danish factory and a growing organization.
