About the job

Viborg Museum søger to museumsværter til det nye Museum Wibergis

Our vision is to be among the frontrunners of Danish museums that create the best museum experiences. So if you love delivering really good service, and if you are the truly special host that guests never forget, then you are the ideal candidate for one of two new positions as a museum steward at Museum Wibergis.

You will be part of the experience at Museum Wibergis

In spring 2027, Museum Wibergis will open in Viborg's former Vestre Court. Here we invite guests into a sensorial narrative about power in Denmark over 1,000 years - the power of the king, the church and the court. In short: a truly special experience awaits the guests. And the encounter with the museum's hosts in the ticket office, shop and café will be important for the guest's overall perception of the experience - and thus also important for their desire to return and to recommend to others.

The museum steward positions are part of a team that works closely together on hosting, ticket sales, shop and café, and the execution of small events and arrangements. Your tasks will include, among other things:

· Welcome guests and groups, sell tickets, shop items and café products.

· Guide guests to exhibitions, activities and experiences.

· Operate the cash register and perform cash reconciliation.

· Stock items and contribute to the development of the museum shop.

· Answer questions and handle telephone and written inquiries.

· Prepare and serve refreshments for meetings and host smaller events and arrangements.

· Restock in the shop and ongoing service supervision.

· Open and close the museum.

Who are you?

We are looking for someone who is passionate about giving guests a really good experience, and who can combine welcoming hosting with professional service and proactive selling. We imagine that you:

· Have experience with sales and service.

· Are outgoing, smiling, approachable - and good at spotting guests' needs.

· Have good language skills - including German at service level.

· Have good digital competencies and are comfortable working in different IT systems.

· Are motivated by sales and quality goals.

· Can maintain an overview and prioritise tasks in a busy and changing everyday life.

· Are responsible, flexible and good at collaborating.

· Have an eye for detail and for the quality of the overall guest experience.

Practical information

You will become part of an organisation with many professional disciplines and tasks. Your position is placed in the Team Communication & Sales and reports to the team leader. You can expect to become part of a museum where there is room for laughter and job satisfaction. We are a value-driven organisation based on the values of diversity, integrity, competence and courage. These are values that actively live in our everyday life.

The work entails varying hours, including evening and weekend work. You should expect to work every other weekend.

The positions are 37 and 30 hours per week respectively. Start date for both positions is 1 February 2027. Salary and employment conditions are in accordance with HK’s collective agreement with KL. There is a requirement for a clean criminal record and a child certificate, and smoking is not permitted during working hours.

Applications, CV and references must be uploaded via Viborg Municipality's website. Your application may be brief. Please indicate whether you are interested in both positions or only one. You are welcome to include a link to YouTube where you briefly introduce yourself.

The application deadline is 29 November 2026. Interviews will take place in two rounds on 7 and 11 December.

Further information can be obtained from the Team Leader for Communication & Sales, Dorthe Elkjær, at 20964382 or [email protected].
