Temporary substitute wanted – and can you work on weekdays in Valby at lovely Mikas? Students, pedagogue, unskilled workers who would like to make a difference?

You will accompany Mikas to school, and be involved in the school day.

You must handle his possible cramps and epilepsy seizures - and you must be able to manage this safely - all training will take place.

Who is Mikas?

Mikas is 14 years old and lives in Valby with his mother, father and younger brother. He is a happy boy who loves one-to-one contact. Mikas has physical and social challenges as a result of brain tumor interventions, including epilepsy, ADHD and cognitive impairment. He has no walking ability and sits in a wheelchair, receiving nutrition and medication via a feeding tube.

During the week, Mikas is in respite care at Sneglen located on Hans Knudsens Platz - he is there from Wednesday afternoon to Thursday morning - meaning your shift on Wednesday starts in Valby - and ends in Østerbro - and your shift on Thursday morning starts in Østerbro and ends in Valby.

Time with pay is built into transportation. Other days may occur when he is in respite care - this is planned for the whole year with an overview of this.

About you and the task

We are looking for someone who has

• You preferably have experience with children and young people from previous work as unskilled or a pedagogue.
• A pedagogical approach to your work
• A good amount of patience.
• Is calm and has a good sense of the situation
• Experience with epilepsy is an advantage but not a requirement, as there will be training, so you can feel safe in the task.
• You help with extra shifts when a colleague is absent.
• You are "hardcore" and eager and find his treatment exciting.
• You will be employed on a temporary basis.

The task involves

• Accompanying to school, during school hours and home from school.
• You will be picked up in the morning by the school bus, and driven to school. Here your task is to administer seizure-breaking medication during a seizure.
• At the school you have some fixed tasks, including some health-related tasks. You will receive thorough training in tube feeding/medication before your first shift.
• The school staff have the primary contact with Mikas at school, therefore you must be able to be a "fly on the wall".
• Lower toilet duties are part of the position.
• If he is ill - the shift takes place at home for now.

Shift every Monday at 07:15-16:30

Shift every Tuesday at 07:15-17:45

Shift every Wednesday at 07:15-15:45

Shift every Thursday at 07:30-16:15

Shift every Friday at 07:15-15:45
