About the job

Do you want to work with rules, professional assessments and policy in an area that matters for both consumers and businesses? Do you want to use your professional expertise to develop and interpret rules in an area that has great significance for both consumers and businesses?

We are seeking two new colleagues (one for a permanent position and one for a parental leave temporary position) for the labeling team. Here you will be part of an area where professionalism, regulation and political agendas meet.

Work with labeling of food in the Danish Food Authority

You will be part of the labeling team in the Unit for Chemistry and Food Quality. The team works with both the general rules for labeling of foods and product-specific labeling requirements. We are responsible for developing, interpreting and conveying rules in the area and translating new legislation and political decisions into solutions that work in practice for both businesses, authorities and consumers.

The position offers a varied everyday life, where you work at the intersection of expertise, regulation and policy. You will have close collaboration with colleagues across the Danish Food Authority, the ministry, the industry and

external stakeholders.

Your tasks will include

  • participating in EU work and other national and international collaborations
  • conveying rules and professional assessments to companies, citizens and other partners
  • collaborating with research institutions, trade associations and other stakeholders
  • contributing to press responses, consumer information and other communication tasks
  • supporting the supervision's work with professional sparring and guidance

You will have the opportunity to work with current and societally important issues in an area that has great importance for both consumers' ability to make informed choices and for businesses' framework for producing and marketing foods.

We are seeking professionally strong and collaborative colleagues

To be considered for the positions, you must

  • have a relevant long higher education degree in a natural science field
  • have interest in the food sector and the interplay between professionalism, regulation and policy
  • be able to express yourself clearly and professionally in Danish, both spoken and written
  • be able to understand complex issues and convey them clearly to different audiences
  • work structured and independently and follow your tasks through to the end
  • collaborate constructively with colleagues and external partners

It is an advantage if you have

  • experience with food legislation or labeling of foods
  • knowledge of EU regulation and authority work
  • experience with political processes or servicing leaders and decision-makers
  • insight into food production or the food industry

Become part of Chemistry and Food Quality

You will become part of a unit with around 50 dedicated colleagues with legal or natural science backgrounds. Together we work for safe foods and informed consumers through professionally well-founded rules and solutions that work in practice.

We place emphasis on a strong professional community, where we spar with each other and solve tasks across teams and disciplines. With us you get responsibility for your own tasks, but you never work alone with them. We help each other, share knowledge and find solutions together.

You can look forward to a everyday life with varied tasks, skilled colleagues and good opportunities for professional development in an environment where quality, collaboration and integrity are in focus.
