As deputy head at Svanen you actively participate in the daily pedagogical practice. You work in practice with the pedagogical staff as a role model, where through actions, sparring and pedagogical feedback you strengthen and develop the learning environments so that all children can thrive and develop. Therefore it is important that you are passionate about leadership in the pedagogical practice, and that it is on the floor you can see that you can make a difference in the work of creating high quality and professional development in the pedagogical learning environments.

We are currently in an exciting development process, of which you will be a central part. We are working on strengthening adult–child relationships, creating inclusive communities and developing a playful pedagogical practice. We are intentionally working to strengthen the staff's presence and quality in interaction with the children, balance adult- and child-initiated activities and establish clear, inspiring learning environments. You will be an important collaborator in translating the pedagogical supervision recommendations into concrete pedagogical development in both the nursery and the kindergarten.

As deputy head at Svanen you are part of a leadership team, where together with the head you are responsible for the professional leadership, pedagogical and strategic direction and development. You operate according to a fixed schedule and also have hours for office time. Your concrete tasks and the degree of leadership responsibility are adjusted in collaboration with the head, depending on your competencies and the needs of the house. In the head’s absence you as deputy head are responsible for the daily operations.

We hope to find a colleague and deputy head who

• is an experienced and professionally skilled educator with strong motivation for work with children. You must be able to lead practice based on the municipality's common view of children: “Children do their best with the competences they have. It is the adults' responsibility to involve children in positive communities and learning environments with equal access to express themselves, develop and thrive.”
• is ready for a daily routine where you must master the balance between being part of the practice and at the same time part of the leadership
• approaches work with curiosity and involvement and is skilled at collaborating with colleagues on the development of the pedagogical practice
• has good communication skills and can convey pedagogical intentions and professional development to colleagues, parents and cross-disciplinary partners – and is an experienced user of the Office suite
• has insight into and experience with collaborating with parents and cross-disciplinary partners to support children's well-being and development

Salary and employment terms
