About the job

The students have chosen either the AI group or the Danish subject, and they want to become more proficient. If you can see yourself in the description below, we would love to hear from you.

About the group: Danish – strong in the subject, ready for the exam

Here's how the group is described for the students

Do you want to become stronger in Danish and at the same time get a handle on what is expected for term tests and final exams? In Danish we work with reading , grammar , spelling , punctuation , analysis , oracy and written composition . You will become more knowledgeable about different task types, ways of working and exam formats, while you develop your Danish-language skills.

The teaching consists of both shared activities, collaboration and individual work, and you help to focus on the areas you want to work more with. The goal is that you become stronger in Danish and familiar with the tasks, ways of working and exam formats you encounter in the subject.

About the group: AI

Here's how the group is described for the students

Learn more about AI, and learn to use it creatively and responsibly. We experiment with text, images, music, video and idea development. We can use a 3D printer and a laser cutter for some of our projects. The group is for everyone – no experience is necessary

Who are you?

Subject matter: You are skilled in your subject and can convey it in an engaging way at eye level with the young people. You do not need to have teaching experience or experience with young people, although both are a plus. However, it is a huge plus if you can convey in a playful/creative way so that everyone can participate, as the young people have different academic prerequisites.

Attention to the social: Teaching at the Youth School is 50/50 about the academic and the social. The young people come voluntarily in their free time. Their engagement and desire to stay on the group depends, among other things, on your way of meeting the young people and the atmosphere of safety and belonging you can create on the group.

Can create room for youth involvement: The young people have voluntarily signed up for your group because they are particularly motivated, have specific interests, wishes or needs. It is important that you can engage in dialogues with the young people about their wishes and needs. The young people should not become passive recipients of a course you have planned alone, but participate actively in the teaching.

Can involve hands-on and go out into the real world as part of the teaching: A Youth School group should very much distinguish itself from a school subject by being less curriculum- and performance-oriented and more hands-on, activating, playful and similar. Feel free to go out into the yard or out into the world and learn in other settings. Although most teaching sessions take place at the Youth School, it is desirable to arrange excursions and other forms of interaction with the outside world.

We offer you

  • Motivated young people who look forward to joining a strong academic and social community
  • Opportunity to become part of – and co-create – a larger community across about 50 groups in fields such as creative subjects, movement, language, technology and crafts
  • Kickoff for all teachers, an introductory evening for new teachers and an annual staff day focusing on professional development, experience exchange and collaboration
  • Colleagues of all ages and from many backgrounds – students, job seekers, freelancers and full-time employed people aged 23 to 73
  • Offer of individual sparring as needed

Practical information

  • Target group: Young people aged 13 to 18 who have voluntarily enrolled in the group
  • Period: The whole school year up to and including June (AI runs until 22 March), but not during the schools’ holidays
  • Time: Danish: Every Friday 1:00–2:30 PM, AI: Every Thursday 4:30–6:30 PM
  • Salary: 400 DKK per teaching hour (clock hour) including preparation

  • Certificates: We obtain child and criminal record certificates in connection with employment
