About the job

Be part of Denmark's historic green transition.

We are looking for an Administrative Officer who wishes to help carry out the large implementation work for a Green Denmark. You will work with finance laws and budget tasks in Corporate Management and Corporate Economics.

About us

Denmark is facing a historic transformation of our landscape, nature and agriculture. In the Ministry of Nature and Animal Welfare we work with some of the most significant societal tasks in the coming years – from the implementation of the Green Tripartite and nature restoration to the development of future agriculture and the animal welfare area including through work with the pig part of the Green Tripartite.

In the coming years, large political agreements must be translated into concrete reality. Areas must be restructured, nature, biodiversity and animal welfare must be strengthened, and agriculture must develop within new national and European frameworks.

These are tasks of great importance for Denmark – and you will have the opportunity to help translate political ambitions into concrete results.

About the office

Together with many good colleagues in Corporate Management and Corporate Economics, you will help support the ministry's overall operations. You will also help ensure that the many initiatives in the agreement are implemented so that there is coherence between tasks and appropriations.

The office consists of about 20 employees and two office managers. We value good collaboration, professional sparring and team spirit. We work closely together to solve tasks efficiently and appreciate that everyone takes responsibility to contribute with possible solutions.

What you will mainly be working with?

You will participate in cross-disciplinary collaborations with your colleagues in the department and the ministry's two agencies, where state finances meet technical expertise, law and the political context. You will become part of the budget team, where you and five colleagues prepare executive documents for presentation to the minister and Parliament, present expenditure follow-ups to the department's leadership, and contribute to budget proposals.

In addition, much of the daily work will involve ensuring that budgetary and appropriations considerations are illuminated in other offices' presentations, professional notes, etc. You will therefore also need to prepare and participate in meetings and collaborate with colleagues internally and in the ministry's two agencies.

You will thus be part of a close cross-ministry collaboration, including the Agency for Green Spatial Planning and the Water Environment and the Nature Agency, both of which have essential roles with professional and legal contributions to solving the tasks.

About you

You have a relevant social science master's degree or equivalent and perhaps a couple of years' experience from another ministry, a state agency or perhaps a municipal finance function.

We expect that you can recognise yourself in the following statements

  • Have professional interest and strong competencies : You are interested in and able to understand complex problems, have a good financial understanding and a practical approach that can translate relevant issues into manageable solutions.
  • Are good at managing processes : You are well-structured, can think in terms of whole, processes and maintain progress in all cases, even when things are moving quickly in some areas.
  • Have strong collaboration skills : You proactively involve and build relationships with colleagues in other offices, agencies and ministries. You enjoy collaborating with respect for different professional backgrounds and finding solutions to cross-cutting issues.
  • Good communicator : You are good at conveying complex issues clearly and precisely in writing and in clear tables.
  • Good colleague : You contribute as a team player and are a good colleague, but also ready to take independent responsibility. You are motivated by seeing how the team's technical contributions to the work help to execute the ministry's overall goals.

We offer you

  • A challenging job in a politically prioritized area.
  • Good opportunities to develop your professional potential and your personal competences.
  • Skilled colleagues with many different professional backgrounds and broad collaboration on the task solution.
  • Training in appropriation rules and the state budget system.
  • Mutual flexibility in planning the work execution.
