We are seeking a department manager for Plejeboligerne Østervang

My name is Laila and I am the administrator at Østervang. I am seeking a department head who wants to lead a department and help create a safe home for the residents and a healthy workplace for the staff.

But what does it really mean to work here?

I have asked the staff what they value about working at Østervang. They highlight care, helpfulness and good professional collaboration. We listen to each other, laugh together and have room for differences. Here there is a good collegial spirit where we are happy to help each other and assist when needed.

The same is reflected in feedback from residents and relatives. They experience us as approachable, sense the good tone and see how we cooperate to create a good everyday life. For us, it is fundamental that we are here for the residents and their relatives.

A leader who listens, supports and sets direction

As department head you will be responsible for the professional quality, staff management and the daily operations of a department with 27 residents and 25 staff.

We are seeking a trained nurse with professional depth and preferably management experience. You are present, visible and listening, and meet the staff with respect. You give room for dialogue and professional sparring, but you can also make decisions and set direction when necessary.

You take responsibility, support the staff's professionalism and keep focus on the residents' needs and wishes. You don't need to have all the answers, but you should be eager to find solutions together with others.

You will become part of a leadership team that stands together

As department head you will be part of our management team, which consists of Jan, Tom, Birgitte, Lotte, Elisabeth, Torben and myself. We meet systematically to discuss professionalism, development and the challenges each of us face. We use each other as sparring partners, share experiences and help each other move forward – and also remember to share the good stories.

For me it is important that we as leaders can both support and challenge each other, take joint responsibility and stand together on the decisions we make. We do not need to be alike, but we must be curious about each other's perspectives and be able to speak openly about what fills us.
