About the job

Are you passionate about making a difference for people with mental illness and concurrent substance use, and do you have experience with the dual diagnosis field? Then you might be our new colleague in the Team for Integrated Dual Diagnosis Treatment at Regionshospitalet Gødstrup.

The position is initially a permanent full-time position with start February 1 or after agreement.

An exciting treatment offer in development. A strong professional community.

We offer integrated treatment for adults over 18 with moderate to severe mental illness and concurrent substance dependency. The goal is to create coherent treatment pathways where the patient’s mental health, health, and social needs are in focus.

You will become part of an interdisciplinary team with a specialist doctor, nurses, social and healthcare assistants, psychologists, and a social worker. We have a holistic approach to the patient and focus on coordinated, outreach efforts in close collaboration with municipalities and other treatment sites.

With us you will be part of a devoted team where we use each other’s competencies, consult, and help each other. We emphasize a good working environment, professional development, and trusting relationships with our patients.

It has been decided by the Regional Council that all hospital departments should work together on on-call duties.

Therefore, you should expect to participate in on-call duties in inpatient wards, even if you are employed outpatient in the clinic. The on-call duties will be limited in scope.

You will receive thorough introduction, relevant competence development, a mentorship program and the possibility of supervision, professional nursing sparring and thematic days.

There will be an option to have a distance day every 14 days and a satellite workplace in one of the surrounding municipalities once a week.

We are looking for someone who has experience with substance use treatment and dual diagnoses and a desire to actively contribute to the team’s professional development.

Your tasks will include

  • Conduct initial, clarifying, supportive, and motivational conversations.
  • Manage substance use treatment, including MI conversations and dispensing substitution medications.
  • Build trustful relationships and motivate patients toward development and change.
  • Coordinate coherent treatment pathways with patients, relatives, and colleagues.
  • Collaborate with municipalities, outpatient teams, inpatient wards, and other partners.
  • Handle outreach tasks and participate in network and joint team meetings.

We are looking for someone who is

  • A trained nurse – preferably with relevant specialist or diploma education.
  • Experienced and interested in dual diagnosis treatment and knowledge of substance use and psychopathology.
  • Strong collaboration and coordination skills as well as a good overview.
  • Patient, curious, and good at building relationships.
  • Have a driving license and be able to provide your own car.

Working hours and employment terms

Working hours are primarily on weekdays between 7:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. You will have the opportunity to plan your work time in collaboration with colleagues, as well as the possibility of planned remote workdays after three months of employment.

There will be on-call rounds roughly one day every 8 weeks. A thorough de-escalation training will be provided after employment.

Salaries and employment terms follow the applicable agreement for nurses.
