Sources: Salary is the average gross monthly salary from Statistics Denmark, LONS20 (2024), CC BY 4.0. Open jobs are active job postings on Arbejd.com as of 18 October 2026. Candidates are Arbejd.com profiles active within the last 365 days, rounded to the nearest 10; below 10 is not shown.

Step-by-step guide

  1. 1

    What does the barometer show?

The barometer combines three numbers for each role: what the role typically pays, how many jobs are posted, and how many candidates are actively looking. The ratio of candidates to jobs shows how strong the competition for candidates is.

  2. 2

    Salary: Statistics Denmark

The salary is the average gross monthly salary for the role nationwide across all sectors from Statistics Denmark’s wage statistics (LONS20) for the latest available year. Gross salary includes pension and supplements, before tax.

  3. 3

Open jobs: active postings on Arbejd.com

Open jobs are the active job postings for the role on Arbejd.com on the day. The number does not cover the whole Danish job market, but it shows how many employers are hiring right now.

  4. 4

    Candidates: active profiles on Arbejd.com

Candidates are profiles on Arbejd.com with the role as experience or preference that have been active within the period stated below the table. Numbers are rounded, and roles with very few candidates are not shown, so no individual can be identified.

  5. 5

    Candidates per job

Candidates per job is the number of candidates divided by the number of active job postings. Below 1 means there are more jobs than candidates — expect to reach out to candidates yourself and offer competitive terms.

  6. 6

    How to use the numbers

If there are few candidates per job, post the job early, state the salary in the posting and search for candidates yourself instead of only waiting for applicants. If there are many, you can be more specific in your requirements. Click a role to see salary, regional breakdown and candidates in detail.

Frequently asked questions

Jobs and candidates are updated daily; the date is shown above the table. Salaries are updated when Statistics Denmark publishes new wage statistics, typically once a year.

The barometer only counts active job postings on Arbejd.com, not all jobs in Denmark. It is therefore best for comparing roles with each other and following trends over time.

If a role has very few candidates, we do not show the number, so no one can be identified. If there are no active job postings, the ratio cannot be calculated. If the salary is missing, the role is not in Statistics Denmark’s wage statistics.

The salary comes from Statistics Denmark (table LONS20) and is published under the CC BY 4.0 licence. Jobs and candidates are Arbejd.com’s own numbers.
