Occupational and Environmental Medicine at Aarhus University Hospital is seeking a physician for 1 introductory position (6620-35-86-I-03) with a start date of January 1, 2027.

At Occupational and Environmental Medicine, patient evaluations are carried out with a focus on the causes of disease in either the occupational environment or the surrounding environment. We collaborate closely with other specialties on evaluations, especially dermatology and respiratory medicine. Allergy assessment is a highly specialized function in the department.

In addition, we advise our patients on prevention and work retention and have outward-facing activities such as on-site visits to companies where our knowledge is put to use. Risk assessment of pregnant women's work environment is also one of the department's functions.

We place emphasis on clinical competencies and experience, high ambition level, professional curiosity, flexibility, efficiency, strong self-management and concentration abilities, and good collaboration and communication skills. The specialty reaches beyond the hospital's boundaries and into the conditions in which people live and work. Therefore we emphasize an interest in societal, work-related and social conditions and how the interaction between these affects health and disease.

We have an educational environment focusing on supervision, feedback, teaching and ongoing competency assessment and expect you to actively contribute to it with curiosity and shared responsibility for your own learning. In addition, active participation in the department's teaching of medical students is expected, both during clinical placements and in group teaching.

Occupational and Environmental Medicine, Aarhus University Hospital collaborates with the occupational medicine departments at Regionshospitalet Gødstrup, Aalborg University Hospital, and the Institute of Public Health at Aarhus University in a joint research collaboration the Danish Ramazzini Centre. We expect you to to some extent seek and read scientific literature as a basis for the clinical work and involve yourself in the department's research environment.

We provide the opportunity to research either independently or in collaboration with the department's researchers depending on previous experience in the field.
