An introductory position with a specialization in Internal Medicine – Infectious Diseases is sought for the Department of Infectious Diseases, AUH

At the Department of Infectious Diseases, Aarhus University Hospital, there is a 1-year position as resident physician (introduction post no. 6620-16-01-i-50) available for occupancy from 1 December 2026.

The Department of Infectious Diseases treats patients with fever, infectious diseases as well as immunodeficiency for diagnostics, treatment and secondary prevention. The department is staffed for 18 beds and has about 1,500 admissions per year. In addition, the department runs an outpatient clinic with around 10,000 contacts per year, primarily patients with chronic viral infections (including HIV and hepatitis), prolonged bacterial infections, cystic fibrosis, and immunodeficiency. In the Department of Infectious Diseases, there is also a clinic for complex and cross-cultural medicine established.

The medical staffing in the clinical part of the department includes a chief physician, professor of medicine, two senior consultants, eight consultants, five department physicians, six trainee doctors in main training programs, three to four introduction posts, one to two positions in dermatological side training, and two to three junior doctors. The clinical part of the department has about 120 employees. Linked to the department is a large research section with a number of researchers, who are mainly funded by university and foundation funds.

The position includes day duty, one-shift Monday to Sunday. On-call hours in the on-call period are from 7:00 to 23:00. From 23:00 to 07:00 the on-call duty in the Department of Infectious Diseases is covered by resident physicians from the Department of Kidney Diseases. In addition, the introductory physician participates in a 24-hour duty roster at the Emergency Department, AUH, together with introductory physicians employed by the other internal medicine departments at AUH.

Salary and employment terms in accordance with the applicable collective agreement. The employment is conditional on a satisfactory børneattest (police check regarding work with children) and a satisfactory authorization.
