Head of BBAL

We are seeking a engaged, clear and presence-rich department head for BBAL, who is visible and present in everyday life, can create direction, support the staff's professional skills and ensure coherent services based on the citizens' wishes, needs and opportunities.

About the position

As Department Head in BBAL you will be responsible for the area’s offerings at Saxenhøj. The area in Sakskøbing includes services under the Danish Social Services Act § 103 on sheltered employment and § 104 on activity and social interaction offers.

You will become part of an organization where the task is solved in close cooperation with employees, citizens, relatives, authorities and other relevant partners. At the same time you will join a leadership team where collegial sparring, shared reflection and mutual support are important parts of the collaboration.

As a leader you must be present in the relationships, listen to different perspectives and be close enough to everyday life to translate overarching goals and decisions into clear and meaningful practice.

Your most important tasks

• Set a clear professional and organizational direction and be present in following up on the department’s daily work.
• Take responsibility for and create progress in the already initiated processes in the various offerings.
• Provide close staff leadership and be visible and accessible in daily practice, including a focus on wellbeing, competence development and follow-up.
• Ensure high quality and systematic social and professional efforts.
• Support citizens’ self-determination, participation and development opportunities.
• Take responsibility for daily operations, resource use and finances within the agreed frameworks.
• Foster constructive collaboration through accessibility, respectful dialogue and ongoing contact with citizens, relatives, staff and internal and external partners.
• Actively contribute to the development of BBAL, continue developing the services to meet future target groups, and maintain close cooperation with the services and area managers in Nykøbing as well as in the cross-cutting leadership collaboration in the Center for Wellbeing & Social Intervention.
• Ensure implementation and follow-up on political, strategic and managerial decisions.

We are looking for someone who

• Has a relevant professional education and preferably a leadership education or motivation to complete one.
• Has leadership experience or documented experience with professional coordination and development.
• Has insight into the social sector and preferably experience with services under §§ 103 and 104 of the Social Services Act.
• Can build followership through clear communication, involvement, respect and a genuine interest in people and daily practice.
• Works structurally, keeps an overview and follows decisions through to the end.
• Can balance professional ambitions, personnel considerations and financial frameworks.
• Is a presence-rich, visible and hands-on leader who seeks dialogue, is available to staff and follows up on agreements and decisions in practice. You are also curious, development-oriented and can handle changes with calm and direction.

Practical information

The position is based at Saxenhøj in Sakskøbing. Employment is according to the applicable collective agreement and principles of local pay setting.

Start date: December 1, 2026
