About the job

Would you lead two specialized residential offerings for young people and adults with autism?

And can you see yourself as a presence-driven leader who moves between two addresses and two different offers?

Then perhaps you are the one we are looking for as the department head for Jens Warmings Vej and Skolegade.

You will receive a versatile leadership role, where you must ensure stable operations, high professional quality and a clear direction, while also being close to employees and residents at both offers.

About Jens Warmings Vej

Jens Warmings Vej on Amager is a temporary § 107 residential offer for 13 residents aged 18-35 with autism. The offer focuses on developing and maintaining residents' competencies through a structured training program with the goal of eventually enabling them to live more independently with or without support. Work includes, among other things, clear phases, targets, relationships and a close collaboration with residents and their relatives.

About Skolegade

Skolegade in Valby is a residential community for 14 residents aged 18-30 with autism. Here the focus is on creating a meaningful and manageable daily life that supports residents' independence and self-determination. The offer has specialized knowledge of autism spectrum disorders and emphasizes professional development, social communities and close collaboration with relatives.

A versatile leadership role across two addresses

You become the leader for two well-established offerings, each with its own history, staff, residents and daily life. This means you do not come to an empty canvas. You must build on what works, create continuity and at the same time have an eye for where development and a new direction are needed. Therefore, it is important that you want a leadership role where you are physically present. You should be able to see the value in being close to practice, the staff and the residents.

You thus obtain a leadership position with daily variation, where you must both look ahead and work strategically and at the same time be close to daily operations.

Your main tasks will be to

  • lead the staff groups and create clear direction, well-being, engagement and professional development
  • be a present and visible leader and have an eye for the different needs and cultures
  • ensure stable operations, including shift planning, resource management, prioritization and follow-up
  • ensure high professional quality and support that pedagogical methods and professional approaches are translated into practice
  • follow up on workflows, documentation, goals and quality standards
  • create coherence and collaboration across the two offers while respecting their different target groups and tasks
  • collaborate with internal and external partners, including authorities, psychiatry, job centers and relatives.

Your management community

You will have your own management responsibility, but you are not alone. Jens Warmings Vej and Skolegade are anchored in the organization NORA, which consists of five residential offers in total. You will become part of a cross-cutting management community with other department heads and a service manager, where there is the opportunity for sparring, shared reflection and collaboration on both operations and development.

At the two offers we work with, among other things, neuro-pedagogy, Low Arousal, KRAP (cognitive, resource-focused and appreciative practice), user involvement and recovery-oriented approaches.

We are seeking a leader who

  • has management experience and preferably experience from autism and/or social sector – experience or knowledge of psychiatry is a clear advantage
  • has a management education or a desire to obtain one
  • can translate professionalism and methods into practice and set direction, follow up and create quality in daily work
  • is clear, present and relationally strong and can create followers, engagement and well-being
  • has an eye for both people, operations and quality and works structurally with agreements, goals and follow-up
  • can stand calmly and clearly in an organization with existing cultures while being curious about what can be developed and improved
  • communicates clearly and inspiringly and can build good relationships with staff, residents, relatives and partners.

We offer

  • an exciting and diverse leadership position with responsibility for two different, specialized offers
  • opportunity to set direction and develop professionalism, culture and collaboration
  • close sparring with service head and leadership colleagues
  • a professional environment with high ambitions and focus on development
  • leader development and competency development
  • a strong interdisciplinary collaboration
  • a meaningful leadership role with great importance for both residents and staff.

Employment terms

The position is 37 hours per week. Start date is 1 December 2026. Salary and employment terms are in accordance with current collective agreement and within the framework of local pay formation. We will obtain relevant references and a criminal record as part of the recruitment process.

Would you be our new department head?

If you can see yourself in a leadership role where you must both create stability, development and professional direction – and where you want to be a visible leader at both Jens Warmings Vej and Skolegade – we would love to hear from you. If you want to know more about the position, you are welcome to contact department head Malene T Nordskov Thomasen at 21 84 82 83.

We look forward to hearing from you.

Apply via the link no later than Thursday 22 October 2026
