Head of Social Work for Family Counseling

Clear professional direction, hands-on staff leadership and strong connections

Do you want to stay close to the employees and help ensure that high authority-related professional quality, timeliness and good relations are translated into practice every day? We are seeking a social professional leader who will take responsibility for the social teams and the reception and become a central part of Family Counseling's new management organization.

About the role

As a social professional leader you will be the nearest supervisor for the staff in the social teams and the reception. You will have both professional responsibility and personnel responsibility and must create clear direction, be accessible to the staff and ensure that professional sparring and follow-up are close to daily practice.

You should, together with the head of Family Counseling, the specialist leader and the professional coordinators, ensure uniform, legally compliant and timely authority practice. At the same time we expect you to look beyond your own area and take joint responsibility for the cross-professional solutions that will create better coherence for children, young people and families.

Your main leadership tasks

• have the professional and personnel responsibility for the social teams and the reception
• set clear professional direction and systematically follow up on quality, legal compliance, timeliness and consistent practice
• ensure good transitions and coherence between the reception, assessment, actions and follow-up
• actively work with well-being, development and retention
• conduct performance and development conversations and other personnel management tasks
• use professional coordinators and data actively in ongoing professional leadership and capacity management
• contribute to financial accountability and prioritization within own area
• strengthen the committed collaboration with the delivery area, day care, schools and other partners
• be part of the on-call rotation for the internal social duty outside normal working hours.

We are looking for someone who

• is educated social worker/social facilitator and has solid experience with authority-related work in the children and youth field
• has management experience or a clearly documented leadership profile and preferably a leadership education at diploma level; alternatively you are expected to be willing to pursue relevant upskilling
• has solid knowledge of the Child Act and strong social-professional judgment
• can translate legislation, professional direction and method into concrete and consistent practice
• works in a structured way and can systematically follow up on quality, deadlines, capacity and working environment
• can balance the need for development with the need for calm, stable operation and clear prioritization
• creates follower-ship through presence, clarity, involvement and perseverance
• sees cross-professional collaboration as part of the core task and can build strong relationships across professions.

About Family Counseling

Family Counseling is part of the Center for Children, Youth and Families in Helsingør Municipality. We work closely with Family House, the delivery area, schools, day care, psychological functions, SSP and other parts of the municipality. We have a particular focus on early and timely interventions and on creating coherent solutions close to the everyday life of children, young people and families.

Practical information

The position is 37 hours. Start: January 1, 2027. Salary and terms of employment are determined according to the applicable collective agreement and the Ny Løn principles.

First interview is expected to be held on 16/11 or 19/11; in connection with the first interview you will be asked to take a test prior to the interview. Second interview 23/11. A case may be included in the second interview.
